OK, its good I saw this thread, I want to keep OEM wheels and go to a slightly taller tire. BUT, I want to add a 1" lift as well and I want to change the rear diff ratio's to truly make my Off road more capable. Question#1 does the front transaxle have to be changed as well to match the rear? #2 What tire size would make it look like it fits the lift and not look like a 3" wheel inside a 22"tall tire? (You get the picture I hope)

    Mostly stuff I built.
Narrow wheels are poor mans beadlocks... The narrower the wheels are the harder is is to push a tire off ther bead seat... The tire naturally wants to keep the beads spread wider than the rim. I have run 37/12.5/15 and 39.5/12.5/15 both on 15x7 and 15x6 Toyota wheels and not lost a bead yet currently running 37/12.5/15 on 15x7.5 wheels on my crawler. I have never had more than 10 psi in any tires on my crawler. Normal psi on it is 6psi fronts & 4 psi rears.

Edit I am not saying that this is safe for highway use. What I am trying to get across is that your logic is dead opposite of the actual. Narrow rims hold the bead and take less rock rash than wider rims.

You're an idiot if you think its about right or wrong and winning and losing. The only thing you and I have debated is the max tire size (which you brought up), look for the word max in anyone elses posts. You mispoke, get over it.

I had to ask you 3 times what the point of your thread was and each time you responded with some cryptic answer instead of just saying "I want to see stock wheels on aftermarket suspensions, post pics."

Its obvious I am not the only one who interpreted your post as asking for advice on tire size. "show love" doesn't have a meaning unless you explain it.

I suggest starting a new thread and asking for what you really want to see.

You also contradict yourself on what you actually want. You want bigger tires but don't want to exceed the manufacturers recommendations, you can't have both.

No lift, but I've got General Grabber AT2s in the Offroad Tire size..... I started with the 245s. Now they are 265s.

Let me see if I can get this to work.....

Looks a lot like what I am going for. Upgrade the tires to something more trail worthy on stock rims. Looks great to me. But you should be warned that I have been told twice in this thread that it is impossible for me to upgrade my tires from stock without going outside of the tire manufacturers guidelines, even though my stock tires are 245s and the manufacturers say 265s are fine. :)

No you haven't, the only discussion about exceeding manufacturer guidelines was with 12.5" wide tires which was not impossible. YOU are the one who doesnt want to exceed them.

5100/885 w/ 1/4 lean spacer, Icon RXT w/ B110’s, 255/80/17 FWP, AP Apex Sliders, KDMax 87, ADD W1, BD mirror riser
Put 285's or 12.5's on a 7" wheel at standard/hwy pressures and you have 1/2 the tread touching the ground. (Picture rounded or balloon shape). Sure that's exaggerating a little bit. Regardless, the tires will wear out in the center first. Been there, done that. Used to have to run mine at 20psi to get full tread contact.

265/75/16 Wildpeak ATW3. Not the best pic. I plan on keeping my stock wheels until a good deal on wheels crosses my path. Also, not going to lift it for another year or so.

Your rear looks super tall with the overload left on it. Hows it ride? I removed the overload when I put the icon progressive aal on.

It's a little stiff but still smoother than the stock ride. I've since raised the front another half inch. It looks about like factory rake. Just higher.

I don't remember the measurement of threading. When I installed the coilovers it gave me exactly 2" of lift. Then it settled down a bit. so I readjusted to2.5". Then again to 3" because those leafs were more than I expected.
    I need ucas like yesterdoodle!
