I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules mods but I'm looking to sell my beloved Tacoma. I'm not posting in the for sale thread because I don't meet the required minimum number of post. So again if I'm breaking any forum rules please contact me and I will remove the post immediately.

    Now onto my truck

What does KBB or NADA say its worth? NADA is typically what banks will loan on one.

It's saying around $30,000 I just realistically didn't expect it to be that high? I see so many nice Tacomas with lifts/wheels/tires/bumpers/sliders.... basically all the cool shit I haven't had the time or resources to do to mine:pray: and most of the moderately modded Tacomas are only around $30,000

If it says 30K I'd ask 30k. Some people don't like dealerships and would rather buy from an individual so it may work out. I'd ask whatever private party in excellent condition is and see what happens. You can always come down on price but its hard to go up once you've put a number out there.

These trucks hold their value very well, I see them used here at close to new truck prices all the time.

Mods mean absolutely nothing on a vehicle during sale. They add 0 value. Whatever kbb/nada says is the value

Yeah to everyday people who are just buying a truck to have a truck. I would say all of us on TW know and respect mods. We all have a understanding and respect for how much work goes into our vehicles. As gay as it sounds "must just be a TW thing" but I would buy a fellow TW members vehicle over some Craigslist Randy

I bought mine from a dealer, same model, year, miles, and color for $30,500. It had Weathertechs, a tonneau, remote start, and block heater.

Take it to a local Carmax.

They will give you a no obligation free appraisal and give you a cash offer.

Their appraisals are usually pretty accurate for the market, and sometimes better than local because they are nation wide.

So if I take it to a dealer I should expect to get around $25,000 then? Because the dealer will want to make at least 15% and turn around to sell it for $30,000 :bananadead: I'm in no rush to sell, I'll just post locally on Craigslist and when I reach my 50 minimum posts on here I'll start a new thread.

Not In Atlanta area, it isn't.

A friend of mine recently passed away.

A couple of months before he passed he bought a brand new Jeep because he always wanted one.

After he died, his wife went to see what the selling dealer would offer.

    They offered 2k below payoff.

    Went to Carmax.

    They offered more than payoff.

    Problem solved.

Of course you can maybe do better selling privately, but it depends on how much hassle you want to deal with.

or she sucks at dealing with the dealer which would have given her more than carmax. Carmax ALWAYS lowballs. That is how they make money.

She went back to the dealer with the Carmax offer.

They couldn't come close to it.

You can ask $30,000 for it and see if you have any takers, its honestly worth what someone is willing to pay for it but that should be somewhere in the ballpark.

I'd argue they actually take value. I don't want someone's project. Why are they getting rid of it?

Even more subtle, I had a 2014 SR5 MT which I traded in for my 2016. I bought it used. The ONLY mod it had was a cold air intake. Man did the Toyota dealer whine about that since they couldn't CPO it.
