And claiming that the only way to show your rebellion against society is by riding the bike that everyone else rides. I want to be careful not to generalize too much... I know some Harley guys who have their stuff together and have no problem with the bikes. I'm a marketing guy and they are very good at marketing.

I'm sure Harley guys hear...."For that price you could have got 2 Hondas...1 street and one dirt."

    HAHAHA!!

Yep my truck likely cost as much as a new Silverado leftover...I'd buy it again tomorrow if I were in the same situation. I have to get that heated mirror mod going. It's Brrr up here above the 49th parallel.

Yeah pretty chilly 70F degrees outside. Heater is on, and nice and comfortable 73F in the office.

Nice, but still would not get me to move to CA. I like my 6-8 weeks of winter here.

To which the Harley guy would reply "people ride motorcycles on dirt?" Also, don't forget to calculate the true cost of a Harley: $20K up front, another 5K of chrome add-ons over the next 5 years, and at least 3-5K of Harley branded clothing, bumper stickers, and artwork.

Of course, being here in the Tacoma forums I should probably speak softly about spending as much on add-ons as the original vehicles. :)

Yep, I've consulted for some people trying enable more of that on the Chinese end. Although not the ones I worked with there are lots of questionable businesses created to take advantage of EB-5 visas, and Xi Jinping is scaring the crap out of rich people in China lately.

But don't worry, there is no chance of me moving there :)

Can't go wrong with a honda. Got my first honda trail bike when I was about 9. Still runs today, now I just ride my street bike.

It's weird how size-obsessed the market is with pickups. You would never heard people say the same about sedans. People understand that different folks have different needs when it comes to cars, not sure why that concept is lost on truck owners. I wouldn't trade my Tacoma or 4Runner for anything larger.

That's true I guess. I don't think that's limited to Americans, but I think it's very apparent here.

Well the size obsession with body parts, houses, cars, trucks are very apparent here. Buying by Bulk is a truly American phenomenon

Need MOAR stuff. Buying bulk is at least cost effective though. Buying an F150/250 when all you ever put in the bed is a bicycle and a bag of mulch is just overkill. The American way :D

That being said, we (Americans) work hard, and like to have what we want to have. I can't fault somebody for wanting a big truck, even if they're not putting it to good use.

Good luck finding a base Raptor. At least around here your going to pay over 62k. And the dealers can't keep them on the lot so your not going to be negotiating anything but up.

That's what I was saying...according to tfltruck the average price someone paid for a 2017 raptor was 66,148.

straight from the article - "Out of the 3,468 Raptors in the report, five trucks are listed at the base price of $49,520. On the other end of the spectrum, 255 trucks are priced between $70,000 and $72,120. The average transaction price across of USA-bound Raptors is $66,148. Yep, most of these trucks are getting highly optioned."
