Got the recall letter a month or so ago about my 2007 Tacoma. (This is the original Floor Mat recall). Has anyone had the recall repair completed? Just wondering what the fix is.

Personally I am not too concerned about my floormat sticking in the pedal. I am worried about resale in the future if I have a recall that I did not comply with. If someone asks, "Did you do the recall"....and I say "no" chances are the buyer will walk away.

For what it is worth...if the mat 'tie downs' were a bit stronger there is no way the mat would ever slide forward. The 'eye ring' pulled out of the carpet on mine and now the plastic piece that holds the mat down is worthless. Was told I would have to re-carpet the whole truck to fix. At least I have a clutch...if the pedal sticks I'm good to go...just hit the clutch!

    of course
I have the same letter. It stated that once a solution is available, that we would recieve another letter explaining how, what and when. That letter never came. The bet is that they determined the real issue is the sticky pedal, so when you bring it in for that fix, it may include a shorter pedal. The solution they did provide was to remove the floor mats until the recall was finalized. You are good, no sweat....

When I took mine to the local dealership about a headlight, they "fixed" my floormat...by ganking two holes in it and zip-tying it to the seat. No joke.
