Haven't been out myself to see if all entrances are like this, but I heard 3 of them are.

I'm in the market for a new taco hopefully by February. I was looking at v6's
    4x2 dcsb OR
    4x2 dcsb sr5
    4x4 dcsb SR
    4x4 access. SR5
Leaning towards the OR 4x2 cause of the rear locker and because this is San Diego most I drive is highway. some trips to big Bear to mountain bike or snowboard but that is about 3 times a year.

Right now I drive a 03 single cab 4 banger that is getting up in miles 310,000 so far. pic is when I was transporting 30 bags of concrete lol. and I'm trying only to spend my max about 35k out the door. heck I may just get a sr5 4x2. my truck now doesn't have any bells or whistles but it gets the job done. and I'm happy with it.
    What would you guys do.

If you just want the truck for having a truck's sake, I would go with the SR5. Unless you plan on running trails up in Big Bear (like John Bull), you don't need a locker and you would need 4x4 (and other expensive things) anyway. But if your max is $35K out the door, you can pretty much have whatever model you want. In 2014, I got a brand new dcsb 4x4 OR out the door for under that. Go to a credit union and have them find you what you want - they get them way cheaper straight from the dealer.

But I've owned both an SR5 and OR 4x4 and honestly, they both have plenty of balls offroad. The locker is nice, but you're a member on TW now, so you're screwed anyway and in 8 months will be decked out with Pelfreybilt stuffs and have an ARB locker. So go with the SR5

Good to know. but yeah I have already been doing research since the 3rd gens came out. But have been holding out. I do some side construction stuff so I need a truck but not sure what configuration to get lol cause I know if I get a lower model I would start molding right away. If I get an OR I would hold out for a couple months haha

Look around some more...you can find a good deal on the 2nd gens. have you looked here? https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/2nd-gen-tacomas-for-sale-2005-2015.168/ I saw some good ones right up top.

Also, if 3rd gen, I think I need to draft a contract to ensure you don't turn into giant douche-nozzle after buying it. kidding of course. I think 2 gens look better, but then I think 1 gens look better than 2nd gens yet I sold my 1st gen and bought a 2nd (kid space and more bells and whistles). So I'm a bad example.

    I'll check out that thread.
But if I go 3rd Gen I'm going to get a 4x2 and do block spacers to get a lift, add some k02's, get a steel front bumper to push shopping carts out of the way. Maybe some hids aND aim them up so I can see further.... LOL!

Hey SD guys, throwing up a courtesy post here for my brother who lives down in PB. A while back he went to a gun show with a buddy and happened to buy 2 tickets for their raffle.

Long story short, he won both the first and the grand prize and ended up with a bolt action Vanguard Synthetic .308 and a tactical backpack full of ammo. He isn't really a gun guy and hasn't shot the thing a single time, much less plan to. So if there is anyone who might be interested in a brand new rifle for a less than new price PM me and I can hook you up!

I'm pretty sure its just the base synthetic model which goes for $649 on their website and i know he would be happy to sell it for about $550.

Nice. Try calguns lots more people on there. I was thinking about picking up a new hunting rifle but just finished my 80% build. Good luck with sale. What about the ammo? May be interested.
