Hey everyone I'm new to this fourm and need help!!! I looked all over here before asking this. I have a 2016 taco4x4. When idiling at random times I hear a squeak coming from the engine it sounds like the tensioner pully is bad it lasts for a few minutes and goes away. I took it to the dealership and they also heard it I was told the truck had a self cleaning fuel system and that's what the noise is. I was a little uneasy about that. Not sure if it's bs or the truth I noticed it at about 5000 miles the truck now has 8500 and it's driving me nuts please help..

Thanks this was really helpful. I felt like the dealership was giving me the run around. I'll try better fuel.

Not your fuel.... It's ignorant to think that. Get your high pressure fuel pump changed out.

Too bad here in the dfw, all we get is the crummy stuff cut with corn.

My buddy has an frs, and I give him a hard time about his motor having "cricket power." His hpp is very noisy unless he can find ethanol free fuel.

Got my High pressure fuel pump changed out. Chirping stopped. Drove truck another 11k miles and across the United States from Miami Florida to Alaska. Still don't have the chirp. I used any gas I could.. It doesn't make a difference.

That's pretty cool. 3500+ miles on my '17 now without any chirping, so maybe it was a revised pump and my truck has it. If not, I'll remember this.
