    forklift tanks need to be re-certified 12yrs from first in service date ( stamped on top ring ) and every 5 years after ( stamped consecutively below original date )

    I have seen 35 years of dates on tanks, the issue is getting one certified ( the cost ) once you have the tank. ( no i don't know the cost, thats a different industry )

    i saw a tank in use yesterday that was original production date of 8/91, and no re-cert's after. it all depends on who's filling the tank if they check ( they're supposed too every fill, just like your grill tank )
