If you look on the packaging for the silverstars, the hour rating is something like 250 hours. Basic halogens are cheaper and more like 1200 hours.

Believe it or not, this was pointed out to me by an Orielly's Auto parts person

 

I'll blame @rctoy he's the one who recommended them.

 

Also consider looking into LED headlights instead of halogen or HID. LED is simple bulb swap, takes 12vdc which is already there, no retrofitting projectors, no worrying about wiring and supporting ballasts.

 

they have a one year warranty so use it. If its over a year then buy a single bulb warranty out your burned out bulb then hang on to the one you bought until the warranty is up and return it. Gotta learn how to work the system.

Those bulbs are like mud tires you don't buy them cuz they last a long time you buy them cuz they work better.

Edit: or just add extra light's , call them "fog" lights and put factory rated cheap shit back in. Cheap ain't bad ass and bad ass ain't cheap.

Time to get something with tracks to float the snow even more. Buried frame deep on 42s takes some effort I would think.

 

Yeah the snow is savagely deep up in the hills.

 

And it must be really soft to not be able to hold you up unless you found a hollow spot. To have a 1st Gen built up on 42s, I find it safe to assume you know to air down, and even more for snow, so sinking that deep is still a feat. I bet there was a bit of fun out there for you. Maybe next summer, I'll be able to come out for a weekend trip and meet you and some of the other South ID people, and hit on @KelticAngel and @Tacoma.Gal to have them shut me down in person.
