    Yes. I do all my own shock tuning.

    And you can have the bypasses built with the tubes clocked so it's no wider than a regular 2.5 smooth body. Or go easy and ADS makes a bolt in bypass for 2nd gens using stock mounts

    Those ads shocks in the rear are not bypasses. But ADS was smart enough to have the resi come off the bottom of the shock body. So there's that

    Flutter stack on compression. I like to use a .008 between the second and third shim. The rest of the shims thicknesses will depend on weight.

    Likely .010 on at least the first two shims for rebound. Possibly full stack of 10's but depends on unsprung weight.

    Going to weigh the truck tomorrow. I had planned on doing the flutter stack just need the rest depending on weight.

    And what do you mean unsprung weight? Like spring rate?

    Weight not supported by the springs. In other words, tires, wheels, brakes, axle, etc.
    More weight=more valving

    I'm a snob. It takes me several iterations before I'm happy with tuning, but I expect more out of my shocks than most. I typically tune rebound based on tire weight. So if it was perfect on 33's and u changed to 35's, typically you have to slow down rebound.

    However, once you get all your numbers, you can email King tuning with your weights, travel numbers, tire size, any impirical figures you have, and they will give you a baseline to start with. Free too.

    Just to make sure I get this right; weights such as vehicle weights, for travel numbers it would be an 8" shock in the factory location, longer if I get an aftermarket tower, 33's", and any other figures. Does that look about right?

    Include everything you can to help. IE: What leaf pack, what front suspension, F/R weight, tire size, size/description of shocks, how much each tire/wheel combo weighs, etc. Wrap it all up in a nice email and send it to tuning@kingshocks.com
    Ideally if you know what valving you have right now and your current complaints, you can send that too.

    As an example, here is one I sent to king back in 2010 before I knew much about what I was doing:

    I just heard about this 775 thread and to post this up here, but I'm trying to sell my wheel to wheel NFAB nerf bars(steps) from my 05 extended cab tacoma. I want to get sliders instead (something I can highlift off of) so I am trying to trade or sell. I don't have enough posts to post on the classifieds but because I don't really want to ship this local thread should work, I am out of Reno
    They are in great shape and never been hit on anything, and i have only had them for about 8 months I believe. I would like to get $300
    (not my truck but those are the steps) if anyone wants a picture of the steps off my truck let me know



    and to introduce my self i'm Austin from Reno! I own a extended cab 05 Tacoma(ill post a pic) but i have slowly been making it in to a better offload/ overland vehicle, but for now its my DD and hunting rig. give me a follow on insta(@austinrauh) for some truck pics too. after reading some profiles it looks like i need to make a build/ picture thread haha
