What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Are they a direct bolt up to the Tacoma?

 

Breakfast of Champions? (Vienna sausages)

 

Debate : arb deluxe front bumper VS. all pro apex bumper without the hoops .

I have the chance to get them for about the same price .

- I know the Arb comes with dot certification which comes in handy on a road incident with another driver .

- it also comes with hoops which I kind of like .


Thoughts ?

 

Veens are like a national national treasure here. You wont find a house around without a stock of these bad boys in the pantry.

 

For lack of clearance, as well as lack of recovery points, I would vote against the ARB.

 

More or less an opinion but i think most would agree the allpro looks better too.

 

Just food for thought, All-Pro only lets you use their skids. Now if that's a good or bad thing is up to you, if you want skids but don't have the cash right now and get the AP one you're shit out of luck

I should preface . This truck won't be doing any wheeling , over landing sure , but no rock crawling

 

I have to agree with you, I wish my 02 had those.

 

Also , after buying the all pro skids and paint and such .

I'm looking at a several hundred price difference .

 

My girlfriend love's them too. She puts them on Saltine crackers...I give mine to the dogs. Think I ate too many as a kid.

 

Nice thing about those cup holders right by the vents is if you want a cold drink slap on the a/c and if you want a hot drink crank up the heat!

 

The allpro skids line up with their bumpers perfect for the most part and I've banged them on some pretty big rocks etc and they have done their job and have relatively few dents... they are heavy though but that's with any steel skids

 

Yes I did. But not to worry Richard Hammond has solved that for Jeremy when they took that trip with the LFA. Just duck tape the cup to the steering wheel I agree though I would have to find a way to put one in the car. That's when a 3D printer comes in!

More or less. I had to grind off one area right above the 3 bolts that is meant to hold a screw. Took about a minute per mirror. For power, I pulled a switch off of the 01, wiring it was a lot of troubleshooting and a royal pain running the wires, but well worth it compared to the old/small swivel mirrors.

I would recommend painting the all pro stuff yourself if you go that route. The powder coating they do is sub-par, to say the least, especially for how much they charge for it.
