So whats the issue with rubbing on a 2nd gen?
Very minimal or will you have to do some modifications to stop it from rubbing like crazy, when it comes to daily driving

What would be the next size for a skinny tire? Anything along the lines of 265/85 or 34/11.5?

Just threw a pair set of toyo ats on my ride. Curious what sort of lift you've got to be running 285s on stock wheels. Do you rub at all?

Prolly the usual corner of the wheel well. I wouldn't worry about UCAs or body mount on a skinny tire like that.

    I think more of a 35/11.5 or 12.5

id probably have to go with a 3" rear lift and i dont think it would fit with a 4" lift up front. so i would have to crank up my coilovers if i wanted to get any wheel travel.

it would probably be a good idea to go with a 1 piece drive shaft which i dont have money for.

Uh what gigantic tires are you talking about? I ran 285/70/17s on almost no lift with some trimming. Adjust your bumpstops so they don't stuff and enjoy. They'll fit in a wheel well with trimming. You don't even have front cvs to pop when your tires are drooped. Also adjusting your coilovers doesn't gaain any wheel travel. It just adjusts where in the arc of travel your wheel sits at ride height. Control arm length determines wheel travel.

Almost no one runs a 1 piece driveshaft. Its hardly necessary.

Front (2.75" total): 1.6" Eibach coils, Toytec 0.5" (L) & 0.25" (R) top plate spacers, 5100's @ 0.85", Built Right uniball UCA's, Differential drop, Removed sway bar Rear: TSB springs, Wheeler's 1.5" AAL, 5100's, 2* shims, Carrier bearing drop, F and R Spidertrax, 285/75-16 Goodyear Duratracs, Self-fabbed sliders, rear bumper, and skid plates, Cobra 75 CB, Bed lined slim lo-pro tool box, Bed Extender, Diff breather mod, Two tail gate security mods, Exhaust dumped behind axle, Can't leave shit alone so plenty more coming...
I think I missed something. :confused:Are you talking about coilovers vs spacers or are you saying the 33's won't cause cv's to pop when drooped? By cv popping, are you talking about a noise or slipping a boot?

Gotcha. There's a few people running 35s. Body mount chop lengthen bump stops can't really stuff them. It hits the firewall. Lift doesn't make your wheel wells bigger.

Oversize tires drooped suspension and wheel turned to lock in 4wd and the axle will bust. Ask tigerfan. That's where limiting straps come in. I've gotten them to make noise but not give out.

So I've searched and searched...And it looks like the Bfg KM2s, Cooper STs, Toyo Mts, and Maxxis Bighorns are the only tires in 255s.

Dang. I want either the KM2s or Toyos, but the toyos are so expensive.

Anyone else know of another tire in that size?
