is it just me, or is this like the worst picture of a car I have ever seen? I can tell its a Toyota and it has some starter fluid sitting in the engine bay maybe, and at least the driver side of the strut stabilizer thingy is attached...

 

It was cold outside. Garage was warm. It's a 97 rav4. The bottle is brake clean so I could have a spot to place the sticker. But I agree one of the worst pictures ive taken. Lol

 

Are you self teaching yourself that ecu for the most part?

 

A little bit. Mostly just the base tune and let kosmic deal with making a nice tune. I think I would still dabble in it like I have done with the x1

 

I have an idea as well. At least for my truck.....

 

Thanks was just curious if it was user friendly enough to do a base map and not need to buy a whole bunch of accessories just to get yourself started.

 

The X-1 is pretty easy, as there are already E maps available. Although I am not sure if Lucario Runner has any of those stored. Basically, if the E tune was setup and 100%, all he'd have to do is plug in a usd stick which has that tune on it, and fill up. Done. However, there would be non ethanol content analyzer with this method.

As for the Infinity, that is a little different.

With say the Haltech or AEM, the best choice would be to have an analyzer in the system, that way the ECU would be able to accurately adjust the tune based on the content's actual rating.

That is pretty cool ecus can do that instead of the old school richen up your afr.

Going to take a while. It's a pretty expensive investment. Meantime going to run the piss out of my mapecu3.

Just e85 talk. E85=more boost + timing ---->more powa without having to bolt on a bunch of stuff.
GM has a module you stick in your fuel tank that measures the amount of ethanol (e85) in your fuel. Your computer can compensate fuel ratios automatically. E85 takes more fuel to burn correctly than gasoline.


Standalone ECU talk. I was just curious on people setup parameter experience. Image getting a computer that controls to your entire engine. You need to fill in a bunch of tables so this computer knows how to startup and run that motor. Its like filling out medical forms so the doctor has a history on you. Once you get your ecu setup you get to have real fun like play with boost and not worry about other adjustments. Also you can make up your own safety parameters to pull some power in different conditions.
