I cant vouch for the front bumper cuz I dont have one but the rear is heavy gauge steel and mounts right up. The biggest part that took the most time is the wiring of your back up lights and the license plate lights. Its not just plug and play, you actually have to cut yours off and solder in the new license plate lights. With the back up lights you have to splice into your existing wiring... its none of it a really big deal its just thats what took the most time and also you'll have to get an after market receiver hitch, the OEM hitch wont work with it. But I would do it all again... love the bumper!

To each is own. But if you're just focused on price then you better be ready for upgrades to suspension. Your over site is that the aluminum bumpers are geared for over landing because A. Weight B. Strength and C. Corrosive advantages vs steal.

    Just my two cents

I'm all about the advantages, just not their price. I want protection and still be a DD.

I DD the balls off my truck. I'm pretty sure the only guy out there that's doing aluminum but it's DIY is relentless fab. But then shipping. Powder coat you could do yourself. Honestly I wouldn't weld his without 3000 hours of practice

I won't DIY aluminum, don't think we even have a welder here at work for that. I'll stick some steel all day long though!

One of few IT professionals who knows how to do that I bet lol

DIY aluminum is definitely NOT for beginners. Steel you can make work, even start over, it's easy to work. With aluminum there is a very chance of vaporizing the metal if not done correctly.

The material is more expensive as well. Hence the cost...

Looks like their powder coating is $200, Line-X is $250. Shipping probably depends on location.

A select few bumper builders ship free. Blows my mind that they don't just roll it all in and give free shipping. I mean, you just paid $1k+ for a damn bumper, least they can do is ship free!

yep. so out the door for just the front you're looking at 2k not including a skid. Obviously if you want aluminum and not have to run around with an extra 100lbs on your suspension as a DD

I'm not sure what you mean. I was just pointing out that Pelfreybilt sells assembled aluminum bumpers.
