I saw those, pretty cool design.

 

Just ordered a couple rolls of Peel & Seal and some HVAC tape to start the deadening process in my truck... So no one can hear the screams from the outside.

 

Thinking about doing this myself... thinking about starting off with the doors, to get the hang of it first, and then maybe venturing into more parts of the truck.

Waiting on a GB to pop up for it.

 

Where you see those at ? I'd like to see them.

 

FWIW, Peel & Seal is 16 bucks per roll at Lowes... I got two rolls of it and the HVAC tape and going to start with the doors myself. Taking out the seats and shit along with the headliner seems like a shitton of work so I'm going to wait and see what I think of the results... Also looking at getting some high density foam matting as well but from a way more economical non-audio specific source...

 

Spot fucking on with what you said and how I feel. Might have to copy you if you don't mind. Just have to find the time to do it. Damn kids are killing me as far as 'free time" goes to do stuff like this.

Someone proposed the idea and he actually machined them up but now the pic he had of the prototype is gone.

with just a quick look at some specs for "clutch oil" ( I assume you mean hydraulic fluid) most say they don't freeze, but I did find one guy that said to freeze hydraulic fluid, you need to get it to -70 degrees F. The spec for most lubes hydraulic fluids refer to their pour point for synthetic gear oil and hydraulic fluids are both in the -40 range. The pour point is where it they just change their viscosity characteristics and don't 'pour' as the flow weight would normally spec.
You need to compare the spec for the fluid with your expected temp minimums.

I guess YMMV more or less but I'm willing to give it a shot and post up the results here once I have found time to tackle the job.

Worst case scenario: I'm out about 30 bucks and just put some fatmat or other CLD stuff over the cheapo stuff.

Only have owned it for like four or five months and just payed it off.
Since owning it I have done a new headunit, ultra gauge, subwoofer, access cab rear dog seat, bought a topper, built sliders, rear high clearance bumper, front winch bumper, trimmed and stuffed 315s in, wheeled in Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah and have put about 8000 miles on it.
