Matthews gets to play his hero. It's a good story for two rebuilding teams. I wonder how long it is this year before we here of financial problems in Phoenix or if the league will cover them up until after Las Vegas drafts.

Initially it looked bad but looking back... I dont think so. I saw another angle and it looks like Hoffman is trying to crosscheck him in the back and a shark player's stick seems to be right there and caused the crosscheck to ride up into the head.

The Vlasic spear on the other hand was pretty low blow - even more so considering it was on Karlsson (aka one of the best D in the league) while he was vulnerable.

Look at Dillon's stick and motion @ 0:33. Clearly caused Hoffman's stick to ride up to the guy's head. Should Hoffman had crosschecked him in the first place? Probably not, but to say its a deliberate hit to the head is a bit of a stretch IMO

I can't decide if Jagr should have an asterix next to his accomplishments, because he's played for so long......of course you'd start to topple old benchmarks. Or if he should have a Gold Star added to his accomplishments, because he's bad-ass......and is a total Ironman - playing amazing NHL hockey into his mid 40's!!

 

he should have an asterisk but only because his points should be higher from the years he spent in the KHL

 

he would have had a few hunge more if he stayed for those few years

 

I always feel like Matthews is playing well but going through growing pains etc, and then I remember he has 14 goals already
