Its not really the temperature its the moisture combined with the cold and I'm not trying to say where I live is colder than the middle of the continent or the moon

I know, I was just making a stupid joke about the temps.

And yeah - it is the moisture that makes everything suck. I didn't really understand how much until I finally lived someplace with somewhat cold temps. We don't get that much winter precip here and if there isn't a storm dew point is plenty low. So that means most of the time it seems quite mild even if temps are below freezing. Add just a little bit of moisture though and things become effing awful fast. God forbid the moisture appear as some form of ice. Don't think I'd be happy living where some of you guys are dealing with that all the time.

Good friend of mine grew up in Edmonton. It sounded effing awful. I'd go out on a "cold" night in So. Cal. with a heavy coat and he'd wear shorts and a T-shirt.

Yeah, see you're probably made from durable Canadian stuff and likely have a metabolism that can convert tumblers of maple syrup into calves hot enough to melt the snow off your front walk when you go out to fetch the mail. My friend is like that. Originally being a So Cal pussy I place next day air orders to North Face if the forecast calls for 40F/4C.

Dude, I'm practically down the street from you right now. Like a mile at the most. Of course neither of us have our trucks out here. PM me if you want to escape your in laws for an hour or something to BS over a meal or beverage at some point while you are in town. Probably not Saturday morning though due to the previously discussed evils of "moisture".

Woot! We can try to make it happen. I leave early Monday, and Sunday is a very busy family day/night. Friday or Saturday is look best, and well have more family available to give me some off duty time. And I have a bitchin' Camaro at my disposal. I mean Camry. But we could possibly include the wives and kids too. I show J all your trip pics as near future inspiration! I'll pm my cell.
