Thought you were asking about CBs. The Yaesu FT-2900r is a Ham radio, not a CB.

 

I don't know if that one will pick up the channel all the people I run around with uses.

I think you got your facts confused. A CB and a Ham are both radios with a mic and an antenna, but that is where the similarities end. Totally different in every other respect.

You can't legally use a ham radio without an FCC license. You got one of those. If so, go with the yeasu.

For those that are interested, clusters from mid 1997 through 2004 are interchangeable with the same number of cylinders. This is a plug and play mod. The 4 cylinder clusters with tach are fairly tough to find. Shameless plug: my black one is listed in the marketplace and has an open bid on eBay right now.

The ONE minor issue I have had is that the fuel light on the white cluster is not functional because my truck, a 1999, is not wired for a fuel light. No big deal. I traced the circuit on the back of the cluster and found that the pin is unused in the connector. I suppose I could add a pin and run a wire to the sending unit in the tank.... if I have the sending unit. The irony is that I have a washer fluid light that is functional...

Anyway, I very happy with this one because what do you see more than the cluster? What do you guys think?

 

You can clear any size tire you want. Just depends on how much cutting you want to do.

With 285 your going to have to do some trimming / bfh work if you want everything to fit when offroad.
