My 2008 Tacoma TRD sport recently had the "RSCA off" light come on my dash. I did some research and understand what it is but there is no switch or button to toggle this setting in or off in my truck. I looked everywhere. Could it be a malfunction or am I completely missing where the switch is. All my switch spots are blank besides fog and AC Switch. I've even tried to press all the blanks. Any help is appreochited! Thanks

Well that's odd. You should have a switch in the lower left side switch panel. You should be able to turn your side curtain air bags off with that switch. Pretty safe to assume your truck was previously owned, it may have been removed and disconnected. You'll have to remove the lower panel to see if the wiring to the switch is present. You can probably remove a blank switch or two and peak in to see if the wires are there. If they are, you can buy a OEM switch from a Toyota Stealership, or eBay, and reconnect it.
    It's what I would do.

And Welcome to TacomaWorld...use that search bar to find lots of posts that may be useful.

If you have 4WD should be switch to left of steering wheel. If 2WD/prerunner then you don't have the switch.

Searching it appears this has happened to a few folks over the years here but no one posted a resolution beyond saying they would probably take it to the dealer.

On my truck if I have something (or someone) sitting on the front passenger seat that is heavy enough to trigger the seatbelt sensor but lighter than an adult, the truck will turn off the passenger side airbag. This is a safety setting for when you have a child sitting in the front seat.

Did you have anything else on the seats in the truck?

The switch he is looking for is to turn off side curtain airbags when off reading.

Come to think of it the OP has an 08 which did not have side curtain airbags unless you had an up level double cab if memory serves me.

I understood that. I was wondering if the same safety feature or a similar one applies to the side curtain airbags. My '05 does not have side curtain airbags.

I know this is a super old thread, but has anyone found a solution? My 07 Tacoma 4x4 V6 TRD all of a sudden has this light come on.

My 07 has no side curtain airbags, no rsca button, nothing, but "RSCA OFF" light is on.
