No plans on jumping down here in Georgia. Just going fast over stuff was the goal. It's been a fun process so far

That's why I'm back on the uninsured plan. Counting down the days until the unconstitutional obummercare goes away so there might be realistic options.

I know no insurance isn't an option in your case.

Going fast over stuff usually ends up with jumping. Not that I'd know this or anything. :burnrubber:

I wish no insurance was an option.

Obamacare isn't going away. The best we can hope for is that it gets revised but even that will be difficult given how much states have already invested in it.

But let's be honest, health insurance plans were just as expensive and just as shitty before Obamacare.

It's a multi multi multi billion dollar industry that is just one cog in the health care machine. All the other cogs are multi multi multi billion dollar companies too. It's in the component companies' best interests to keep reaping massive profits at the expense of the commoner like me and you.

Change is going to be near impossible because billion$$$ = political power. Their dollar is more valuable than my vote.

    Capitalism > Democracy

You can drop the Health from this, all insurance companies operate the same.

They really are the issue and why Warren Buffet is the richest man on earth.

Wow is it getting nasty out there. Snow and hail are coming down! Can't wait to get off work and hit the hills!

Regarding the instance convo..we have liberty mutual for the house and cars. Full coverage on 4 cars. I'm not certain about coverage on any of my upgrades. I've never asked assumed I'd have to eat those losses and that's part of the 4 x 4 deal. Or I just buy the truck back if I ever was faced with that.

As for the insurance company they've been great our dog actually started a fire in the house but getting on the stove and they covered it no problem, $50 deductible on windshields in with them for 11 years.

    No doubt.

Tangentially my State Farm auto insurance premiums keep going up. In my 15 consecutive years with them I've never made a claim, got into an accident, got a ticket, etc.

I called my agent up and asked, "why?"

"Because there have been a lot of hail damage claims in your area."

"But I didn't make a claim, so why should my premiums go up?"

"This is how State Farm calculates it."

"So State Farm collects premiums from everyone. Those premiums plus deductibles are what pays for damage to said vehicles but when it comes time for State Farm to actually pay out for damage/claims, all they do is raise the premiums so that they don't lose out on profit? And not just the premiums of those making the claims, but the premiums of everyone in 'that area'? Is that correct."

Long pause... followed by another stumbling bullshit excuse.

"Thank you for the explanation. After 15 years I'll be taking my home, auto, life and PLUMP policies elsewhere."

One can dream! The pos system is already needing bailouts, so it'd be nice for some change for the better instead of the opposite that we got.

In other notes... We better get some freak snow tonight or else. :annoyed:

And when a natural disaster comes they just get money by leeching from the govt and raising premiums to cover everything they pay out.

If i didn't have ethics or morals... I'd start an insurance company.

It's why I voted yes on Amend 69.

Amend 69 might have been a disaster too but at least it's a different disaster that would have actually provided "free" health care for a fraction of the cost of premiums + deductibles + whatever % the insurance company pays out on.

Liberty Mutual is a option for me, as with Progressive. Not finding anything close to what Geico was at.

State Farm came back with the single highest quote at over $300/month for not that great coverage on my two vehicles.

Time to put on the big girl panties on and dish out the cash. We've all done it at one point. Shit even my son is doing it and he's way younger then you. Look on the bright side once you start growing grey your payments will drop.

I think I have something like a deer deductible w/ liberty mutual, have to ask my wife don't really mess with that stuff.

One time about two years ago I hit a buck deer pulling away from a stop light in the Tundra. Call the cops and file a report. Call the insurance company. Lady on the phone told me I didn't need the police to come and she just took down the information. Advised me to go get body work quote when I could. I went and got it I had a check from them within 10 days for $700.
