It's Friday and Christmas party time

 

TV;DR

Pump feeding my unit stopped pumping, Supervisor spends 2 hours fucking with it only to find out he was trying to fix an already working pump that wasn't even the broken one.

That's my new boss folks. Great.

 

I hear you get a couple of these Norcal clowns together and they'll do a bang up job for beer, food, and OTPHJ. Talk to me after this Saturday and I might have some weekend availability to lend a hand.

they can charge us higher rates for water if we are in a drought, also they can get green energy codes passed easy if everyone thinks we are in a drought. more ways to make money. I also think their trying to justify the delta tunnel project by showing huge flow rates in the rivers.

 

I love how the pics are in different months but are purposely to make things look worse. 2014 they released a ton of water same as 2016. and the same this yr and has been that way for yrs. they get nervous and dump water I think its pretty dumb. the way the manage it is horrible, and has been for yrs. we need more storage and they continue to just build more and more and do nothing to support it.

 

If it's used for drinking water, irrigation, power generation and flood control, they're going to release water. Can't drink the water from the shore, can't water crops while it's stored, flowing water churns the turbines, releasing fresh water into the river prevents salt water intrusion from the Pacific, and on and on...plus, a ton of water in our eyes may be a minimum requirement or drop in the bucket in the grand scheme of things, but that's about all I know about it

 

I don't know anything about the releases, but, before the dam was there, the water downstream flowed. It should have some flow. It's like the old westerns when the farmer downstream of the dam can't water his crops and curses the evil mining company that built it. That's aside from the ecological purposes.

The bottom line is that 75% of the water comes from NorCal, and SoCal makes up 75% of all water use (including Colorado River water).

Should we raise their rates and lower ours? Fuck yes.

Well, sumbitch. I just read an article a few days ago saying the last storm brought Tahoe to nearly full. Liying fucks!
