Sorry, I hate that my shocks are long enough and I shoulda moved my shackle back slightly further and put my shock mounts lower. It would be better that way.

 

Not enough up travel for go fast stuff. Cause #pretendracetruck

 

Soooo, that would give you a little more up travel, right?

As long as he's able to hit the speed bumps at the mall, why would he need more up travel?

 

So he isn't hitting bump stops every bumps

Would moving the lower shock mounts down a bit be enough to fix your complaints about that set up, Dakota?

Yeah don't do the swap with a person who believes in eye balling everything and freaks out on you for measuring and trying to think shit out.

 

• Figure out headlights
• Change engine oil
• Reboot CVs
• Change front gear oil
• Remove rainbow stickers
• Clean, wax, undercoat for winter
• Remove driveshaft and get rebalanced/maybe retubed
• Install axle shims and new u bolts
• Maybe band aid fix rear with a longer shackle? Nah fam
• Get some air bumps (eventually)
• Clean interior
• Powdercoat bed bars
• Fix backup camera (ordered new one)
• Replace reverse light (ordered)
• Softtopper on for winter
• Install new HID harness and ignitor
• Reinstall driveshaft

 

Really wish I had 14s too haha. Makes me depressed having the limit straps off.

 

Yeah... I'm thinking about doing 14's with those Ford shock towers they were talking about in Ace's thread. Looks like a sweet setup. I have to wait until I get one of those job things before I buy any more truck mods though

Are you planning on doing any wheeling trips around Christmas? I'll be visiting my parents who happen to be just across the border from you guys.

Those shock towers are awesome. Im using them in my FJ40. Hard ot beat all of 40 bucks for towers. I straightened mine but might not be needed for a Tacoma

 

Cool to hear another good review for them. The price is definitely right... but it's not that $40 that's holding up the project, it's the thousand bucks on the rest of the stuff.
