    Great info here.

    So great I almost want to go buy a pool (or house with a pool) since I feel like I could take care of it myself now....or at the minimum ask questions on here and I'd get correct and informative answers.

    Good luck OP. Crazy that you checked the cameras and they didn't even show up for a couple weeks. That's pretty shady.

    Ironically since I sent the picture of the filters full of leaves "hours after they cleaned it," the owner of the company has not responded at all. They are a pretty large so cal company and are very prompt on emails...

    I owe them 144 and 144 last month and this month.... I won't pay till I get a response from these people.

    Yes this thread has been very helpful and I am appreciating the comments

    One of the best things I did was buy a timer for my pool filter. I then found a chart online to tell me based on total gallons and pump HP how long to turn the water over twice, then set my timer to do that during off-peak hours..cheaper electricity

    Hmm I am not sure if mine has one. It seems to run on its own. Where would one be located?

    Wow that's bullshit..good thing you caught it.

    For mine I spend about 10-20 minutes a week on my above ground which is about 10000 gallons. Toss in the auto vac, throw in chlorine and shock, and go. I'm in it every damn day so I just scoop the leaves while I swim

    Odds are you don't, but I'd check near the plug. Not sure what kind you'd need for yours offhand but they can't be that expensive.

    It could be hardwired near your breaker box inside but I'm not too up on those

    Yeah, when I first moved into a house with a pool, the pump would run in the afternoon because the pool guy set it that way. We changed it to run during the middle of the night and saved a bunch.

    Big time, plus my electric bill goes up in summer anyway between that and running the AC units. Granted it is offset by not using the oil as well..

    I live in MA so my day weather is still not near what CA weather is in the summer. Plus mine gets used daily at least for a short while when I come home from work

    A rough guess (nothing more) is about 16000-18000. I say that b/c my 15x25, 4.5 deep is 10000.

    Looks correct. I had the same kind of dial at my old place.

    @Maticuno
    @Midnighttaco08

    Purex DE filter

    48sq feet
    Filter Area

    50psi max pressure

    I turned motor off
    Took the screw off on the top filter area ring
    However couldn't get the lid off
    Pried a little on side to take a picture but air started hissing

    So I put everything back together
    And turned pump back on

    I have seen the inside before
    They are silver propeller like things you pull out and clean
    The owner of the pool company did it in front of me once
