I'm not going to look into this further, but Washington Code Says:

    RCW 46.37.375
    Steering and suspension systems.

    (1) Construction of steering control system. The steering control system shall be constructed and maintained so that no components or attachments, including horn activating mechanism and trim hardware, can catch the driver's clothing or jewelry during normal driving maneuvers.
    (2) Maintenance of steering control system. System play, lash, or free play in the steering system shall not exceed the values tabulated herein.
    Steering wheel diameter
    Lash
    (inches)
    (inches)
    16 or less . . . .2
    18 . . . .2-1/4
    20 . . . .2-1/2
    22 . . . .2-3/4
    (3) Linkage play. Free play in the steering linkage shall not exceed one-quarter of an inch.
    (4) Other components of the steering system such as the power steering belt, tie rods, or idler arms or Pitman arms shall not be broken, worn out, or show signs of breakage.
    (5) Suspension condition. Ball joint seals shall not be cut or cracked. Structural parts shall not be bent or damaged. Stabilizer bars shall be connected. Springs shall not be broken, or extended by spacers. Shock absorber mountings, shackles, and U-bolts shall be securely attached. Rubber bushings shall not be cracked, or extruded out or missing from suspension joints. Radius rods shall not be missing or damaged.
    (6) Shock absorber system. Shock absorbers shall not be loose from mountings, leak, or be inoperative.
    (7) Alignment. Toe-in and toe-out measurements shall not be greater than one and one-half times the value listed in the vehicle manufacturer's service specification for alignment setting.

Could be interpreted as only if they are there (ie, no quick disconnect), but thought it was interesting none the less.

FWIW - Washington Law does state specifically that anti-sways are required for coil spung rears.

im still rocking mine...with fox 2.5's haha the real thing that used to keep me from removing it was having to remove the pelfry skid which is like 45 lbs and nothing more than a mere pain to do by yourself without a lift. so i told myself when i took the skid off next time, i would take the sway bar off (I know its limited some of the travel for my front susp, so I hate the aspect that im not getting "everything" i paid for). THEN my baby was born back in sept and it was not worth it to me to jeopardize her riding with me. I trust myself driving with it off with me in the vehicle on the interstate, but im not willing to gamble with her, thats just me personally. i figure in the coming year it'll come off, but I just havnt made a specific attempt to remove it yet. (after 4 months, my daughter has ridden in the my truck 1-2 times...so the odds of her riding with me is much less than I originally anticipated, which is why my reasoning is turnin to removing it)

The big risk you face is being sued. If an attorney can prove that a properly attached sway bar (if the vehicle was originally equipped with) could have prevented an accident, you're screwed.
I would think it likely of this happening would be extremely low.

Sway bar? Never herd of it. Lol

BTW, someone left one at my place after installing a lift. There might be a couple of them here if anyone feels the need to install one.

Agreed....But there are many of us that aren't in compliance within WA and much less in CA and CN and other states.
I am not pointing fingers b/c there would be several pointed back at me. :anonymous:

    For instance:
Rear Bumper cannot be higher than 19"
Vehicles are required to have a license plate light.
Mudflaps are required for all lifted vehicles and where tires extend outside the fender wells.
Off road lighting is not legal to use as a primary source of lighting for highway driving.
Horn is only used for emergency purposes.
    Etc.
    Etc.
    Etc.

The list goes on and on.

Stating an RCW in an offroading forum; it like tattle tailing on someone that didn't see a sign to "stay on the path".
Good thing it wasn't stated on Pirate4x4...

Anyone know if the locker controller or computer needs to see the resistance of the locker motor to function?
I have the locker relay mod on my truck still, after switching to a 9" rear with an ARB, I left the relay in place hoping to use it as a ABS cancel, but it doesn't work. I hear the relay make, but the dash doesn't light up for the locker anymore and it doesn't cut out the damn ABS

If we can get one more person to confirm that would be great. Do you have a winch? I have a friend in a stock Rubicon that wants to go.

Winch, recovery gear and co2 bottle if needed. I don't have lockers but 33" tires.

Bring a bottle of lighter fluid or gasoline and a lighter. Doesn't take much to get the poof to set a bead. I suggest a longer lighter to help keep hands back, or have a piece of paper to light and drop on it.

Depending on when and where I am in, I just have to try to be back home by around 7 tomorrow. If we do Sunday I am completely open.

I unfortunately do not have a winch but hopefully with you guys both having one we can get by.

    Also:

Been looking to get some tire deflators. Something I can set and forget to a particular PSI rather than babysitting each tire with a gauge while airing down. Any recommendations?
