Why does the new Ranger remind me of the forever FUGLY Chevy Avalanche ?

But now I want to discuss the new Ranger with the tantalizing possibility of the 2.7 Ecoboost V6.

I would say wet dream of a mini Raptor, but my hands would shake too much to type it. :cookiemonster:

To be honest, I wouldn't buy the first year of the new Ranger either, but I'll bet it would surely wake up Toyota and get them cracking on making the Tacoma competitive with it.

If Ranger does get the 2.7 Eco, I think you'll see a small V8 in either Tacoma or Frontier to compete.

    Or a turbodiesel.

    Toyota doesn't care
THey have a built in fan base

Third gen is proof . Twins didn't wake up Toyota. 3rd gen which is really gen 2.5 is flying off lots

    Toyota doesn't have to innovate

Ranger ecoboost would be like a Fiesta ST to the Raptor=Focus RS

What is the volume of sales for each 2016 truck? Without a baseline, this data is meaningless. If coke has 100 defective cans and pepsi has 1 defective can, but coke sold 1,000,000 cans whereas pepsi sold 10 cans, the failure rate is substantially higher on the pepsi.

That's the ranger sold outside of the US. The new ranger will get a redesign. It's American made crappy quality, so the redesign will probably have issues, unlike Toyota. Oh wait...

Well I don't know... The taco came after the redesign on the Canyon/Colorado so not sure what that meant?

No, I'm poking fun of people on here that think Form and GM trucks are garbage, yet this site is full of people that are having issues with the 3rd gen. The best 3 trucks I ever had were Rangers. I never traded a Ranger in two months after I bought it. Can't say that for the one Tacoma I've owned.

I must say my first gen has been very good to me this first year of owning it.

I was soooo close to getting a brand spankin new 2016 Tacoma off the lot. I was getting frustrated with the resale prices I was coming across for used Tacomas and thought why not buy brand new.

I may catch a little shit here being a 3rd gen post and all, but I am so glad I did not get a new 2016 Taco and instead paid 9k (overpriced imo) for my 1st gen with 125k miles. I was then able to justify this dirt bike purchase I am about to make. :bikewhoops: And the $$$ I put into the truck for suspension.

Heated seats must be nice though.

Nice, my first Toyota was an '85 4Runner that I bought in '91 for $6500. Was the first person in my family to buy "Jap Crap" they gave me so much shit over it.

Downey 3" lift...and yes, I offroaded it. Bought it with 60K on it, drove it up to 225K before I sold it for another Toyota truck, '92 RCSB.

The '92 remained stock other than AT tires, took it everywhere...all over AZ, NM, CO, CA, Baja. Bought that one with 60K on it...ran it up to 150K to buy my 1st Gen Tacoma, which I still have, which has 337K on it.

If you paid 9k locally for a gen 1 two door
It's not over priced at all

    Given 4doors fetch 12k+

I know I did good, but the resale value of these tucks still blows my mind. They wanted 11k, the truck needed new front struts so I talked it down and showed him the money. I knew I would be putting coilovers on it anyways.
