Fairly new Tacoma owner here. I drive mostly highway, Pretty light on the foot. 2009 4x4 v6 access cab. Is it just my tacoma getting this bad fuel mileage or is this the life of a tacoma?

Last fill up i got 280Km to a 52L fill. Feeling like thats ridiculous for not towing, not racing around. I have manual trans and i keeping the rpms down short shifting when possible. This is my current tank.

What are you v6 models getting out there?

Honestly I'm not getting much better. 380 km on 66L (236 miles on 17.5 gal) I have been quite disappointed in fuel economy. It's much worse then my ford ranger 4.0 was

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
What are these fake numbers you're using? The hell is 52L? Welcome to a U.S. based site.

Best I've seen is 21mpg worst was (currently) about 15.5mpg. 2015 AC on 33" all terrains. I can never remember if it's summer or winter blends that get worse mpg but I do know that I drive "spirited" for the most part. I'd convert it...but you know...lazy American here.

Can confirm that all 3 toyota trucks I've owned have all gotten the worse mpg of my 7 trucks. But they all have lasted me longer and given me fewer (none) problems.

Edit for the northern neighbors: about 450km per tank is what I saw before winter

fair enough lol I use my truck as a weekend/ hobbby truck now, Drive a cavalier to work to save the dollars. converting that last tank i got i was getting around 11.9mpg . I know the winter has its negatives on mileage being like way below freezing most mornings but god dam it hurts the wallet. Are the new engines any better?

Not from what I've heard. The one I drove felt slow as hell too, couldn't get out of its own way and power wasn't were I wanted it. My 4.0 still lights up the 33s with no issue.

Winter I average about 17.5 90% highway driving and never faster than 65mph. And about 19 on summer blend with also 90% highway. I am a highly conservative driver who avoids going over 2,000 rpms. Moral of the story is the gas mileage sucks. My father in law has a 4.6 Ford 150 and gets the same mpg at 65mph as my Tacoma on the highway if not better...I shake my head at this thought all the time but I still love my Taco.

If I go into a forum where the metric system is standardized I am gonna convert to their system before I post. I'm not going to ask for help and ask for them to work harder to deal with the information I've given them. Lucky ya'll other people are more patient than I am.
