Yeah thats pretty stock, city driving kills the mileage if your sitting in traffic jams.

that looks like fairly flat, rolling country. You should be getting close to 450 to 500 a tank if its not stop and go

I'm getting twenty or more with a four banger.
My v6 was a gas hog.

Are you driving a manual or auto ?

If you keep the rpm between 18-25k you'll save a ton of gas.

Tacomas are the best trucks out there.

If you want really good gas mileage Trucks aren't going to do it. The aerodynamics and design are counter productive for fuel efficiency.

I've also come under the impression that mileage ratings are BS. Only way to really know is to drive and do the math yourself.

As soon as it gets cold, my gas mileage shits the bed. Three inch lift with 265/70/17 BFG's. 4x4 4.0. In the summer, I've seen as high as 20 MPG if I kept RPM's under 2500

Last time I checked my mileage I was around 21 mpgs. Other times I'm around 18-19 mpgs.

Your stated mileage seems horrible to me. In the summer I usually get around 500KM with mixed driving if I push it until the low fuel light comes on. If I'm driving on the highway only (usually I set cruise at around 110), I can get closer to 550KM.

In the winter my milage is definitely worse, but I'm still over 400KM before I hit the low fuel light. It really depends on how cold it is, if I have to use 4WD, how often it's used, etc. Regardless of conditions, I've never seen under 400KM.

Towing my 16 foot fishing boat, I basically get winter mileage.

My previous truck to my Tacoma was a 97 F-150 4x4 with the 4.6L. Loved the truck, but it was terrible on gas. It basically got the same mileage per tank as my Tacoma, but used about 20 more litres to do it, LOL.
