We all know that tacomas tend to have their frame rust eventually within a few years. I live in a state where we sand our roads so thats a plus but most likely going to be moving to a state where they salt once the military relocates me.

Anyone bed lined their underbody and if so how is it working out so far? is it a good investment?

thats an interesting idea, but I think it'd depend on what the bedliner was and would do more bad than good considering if water did happen to get under the liner it'd just start eating away with little warning. Thats just what I think though, I haven't heard of people doing this before. I just recently POR'ed, painted, and greased part of my frame. This'll be the first winter for it so Ill have to see how well I did. I think just painting it every other year or so should keep everything under control though.

Painting doesn't seem like a bad idea either! I just want this sucker to last as long as my engine does. I rather replace my engine or tranny way before my frame imo

Now that I think about it, it's a dumb idea stupid af especially if water gets underneath, I guess this thread is useless at this point haha

yea I hear ya. POR15 is pretty good against road salt, then you could also fluid film the inside areas and use marine grease liberally all over the thing to keep the water away. I don't think theres many solutions where you can just throw something on and never look at it again in your life the best way to keep rot and rust away is to just check it every spring and sand and paint anything that remotely looks like a problem area. And bed lining the underside does sound like a good idea in your head, I don't blame you, I mean its the most durable "paint" you can get pretty much lol, But theres obvious issues with the concept

You would struggle to get bed liner where it needed to be. Regular treatment of cleaning and fluid film will be much more productive.

Exposed or easy to remove parts can be cleaned and painted with a rust encapsulator.
