I have the 300 piece tool kit as well. Only issue with the kit is the box. The handle broke off, and the clear screen over the little bits doesnt lock shut. I love the kit though for the $

Just the other day I found this nice bench someone threw out, but couldn't fit it inside my bed and had an odd torx bit screws that held it together. I used my HF security bit set to unfasten the torx screws and was able to load it in the bed. I have found odd items that have these screws and would be lost without this set to remove them.

I also have the HF free tarp in my truck.

Why is a tarp especially good to have in the winter?

Dirty/wet dog or kids? Put the tarp on the seat.
Get a dear in the snow? Turn the tarp into a drag mat.
Stuck in traffic cause the road is closed? Hang it from your roof rack to the trucks rack next to you and have a place to play cards/cook some stuff in a small grill/BS about what dumbass decided not to use chains.
Put it on your windshield to help keep ice off.
Wrap the unconscious body of the local thief/meth head and make it easier to drag him out into deep snow to let him freeze.
Just a few I could think of.

HF needs to give away free grills so I can make this happen.

Okay. I own a HF 10" compound miter saw that holds true and does a great job. I'm an occasional user. Cut miles of base boards, crown moldings, studs with no issues.

Another great tool is their electric chainsaw sharpener. It will easily sharpen my blades to cut cherry wood like butter.

For occasional use tools they aren't bad.

My last Craftsman Jack had blown seals right out of the box, returned it and the second one had stripped gears at the end of the handle, returned it and the third was fine but one lasted about one year...

Can't get enough free items. They don't give away the rope that often around here.

My wife spends an hour at The Limited, I run over to Harbor Freight. She spends $100 on 2 pieces of clothing, I spend $100 on a basket full of C clamps, zip ties, long pliers and electric fly swatters. We are the happiest couple ever.

The first time you go in, you're like "What, it's another tool shop.."

Then you come out with things you never thought you'd need or even know of in your life.

Then every subsequent visit, it's an oasis of odds and ends of crap that you don't need but you /need/.

Sometimes I forget how many HF tools are in my garage. The creeper with headrest has been used by my 3 year old quite a bit. I'll be stopping in tomorrow for a good amount of cheap Chinese crap bins to fill some shelves. I'll probably end up buying some other crap that seems like a good deal

They have a Ross conveniently located right next door to HF here. We go our separate ways.

My dryer stopped making heat. Checked online, most common cause was one of two different $20 fuses. Which one could it be, if either? Well I didnt have a multimeter. So I printed a 20% off coupon and went to harbor freight. I got a multimeter and a free 6 pack of screw drivers for less than what a gallon of gasoline cost. Found the faulty fuse, picked up a new one from the shady appliance parts store and got the dryer fixed.

What blows me away is the sheer economy of it all. For instance, last year I bought an engine hoist from harbor freight, the same one as the picture above. Do you see that fucking price?

    $99.

That means that rocks were dug up in a mine, processed into raw iron, drawn into steel tubing, cut, drilled, and welded into various shapes, painted, bolted together, casters made, fasteners, hook, and chain purchased, hydraulic cylinder sourced and filled with oil, boxed up with an instruction manual, shipped to the opposite corner of the globe, trucked to the other end of the country, unloaded from the truck in a store, stocked on a store shelf for god knows how long, and finally purchased by me for 99 fucking dollars.

I'm a fabricator, and if I were to source all of those parts myself and build that thing in my own shop it would have cost me HUNDREDS more and take probably 6 hours to build and honestly the quality wouldn't be any different.

To think that everyone in that chain of manufacturing not produced their part of the product AND got a cut of that $99 as profit is pure capitalist insanity.

Think about how cheap tools must be in China!
