So I went to pick up my girlfriend from class last night.
Showed up early... left my radio and heater on (it was cold), and um....
..."kinda" didn't turn the truck on... just let it run on battery power.
Fell asleep.... and hour later... battery's dead. Out of the 20-something people who walked out of the building... NO ONE had jumper cables
Including me, because they are in my bag....in my apartment.

Finally found a friend who had cables, started right up So yea... I iz jakazz.

Note: I didn't know that some Chevy cars have their battery in the trunk? who'da thunkit?

 

lol. A little early? Atleast it all worked out, I carry my cables in the tray behind the back seat. If I were you i'd move mine there.

 

LOL that sucks...I had that happen to me with my Powerstroke. A durango tried to help me but it didn't work. So I found a guy with a Dmax. Hooked my cables right up and my POS started...

 

Yeah...Those cables in your bag are pretty useless, eh??

I carry a booster pack in the trunk of car...I haven't found a good place to put one in the truck.

why not just leave the truck running?

 

most bmw's have the battery in the trunk for weight distribution. people were always confused when they'd ask for a jump and i'd come backing up to their hood

yep and cadillac is starting to do that now as well to. My GF's battery in the the trunk of her CTS. That was nice when we hooked up her sub, used ALOT less power cable.

 

Yeah. How does your heater work without the engine running? It will only blow hot air for like 5 minutes with the engine off if the engine is warm.

 

heh, well... her class is suppose to get out at 10:30... but the professor is a little, "unscheduled?" Class has ended anywhere from 8:30-10:45, so....

Yea, usually I always leave my truck running. I'm always the guy, to the help the guy, who killed his battery like I did. I don't know what I was thinking....

And no, my heater doesn't work off the battery, but I had my tunes jammin

 

with just the radio on and no lights or anything else you can run it for quite a long time. i left mine on at a field party for like 5 hours straight and it cranked right up in the morning

 

I've been thinking about moving my truck's battery to the right side of the tool box. It would move weight to the passenger side for the Taco lean and to the back wheels because all pick ups are front heavy.
