dude I just came back from home depot (not sure why I went in a blizard but meh its down the street) saw some car went through someones fence and on their lawn now. No way that can happen besides driving too fast. and its a side street...so its a 40zone. no clue how they did it just a bunch of dumb cunts probably still on summer tires.

    This city is a mess.
sounds like you were on the shit hole 401 haha. what a mess it is. dread driving on it. especially at that time. if thats PM you mean. Supposedly the worst traffic for an interstate highway in all of north america.

If it weren't for this city having a lot of work and my family and girlfriend being here I'd never return. the hatred I have for this city, the people, the mayor and then of course there's our wonderful premier for the province. You're lucky out there in New brunswick. I've looked into moving out east but there just isn't enough work in the electrical field for it to be worth while. But I've been out that way and I love it there. Planning on doing a nice trip out that way either next year or the year after and just going around and camping. One of the guys from the 4x4 club did it last year and posted all the pictures. Gorgeous trip man.

you should hear the job site I'm on, me, 3 irishman and an aussie. Thank god there are no women around hahaha.

It still blows my mind that CA has the same population as all of Canada... You could never escape the crowds.
The surf and sboard thing would be sweet though.

I got one for you.. Bought my tacoma 36,900 OR loaded with tech package AT. Got home and went on KBB put my truck in with 250 miles just to see how much it depreciated. Guess what it came in at 38,200. No joke, first vehicle that actually was an investment. lol. I have have two f-150's a jeep wrangler and 20 other new cars they all took a huge hit right off the lot. I'll stick with the best resale vehicle on the planet.

People expecting the first year of a complete redesign and new engine/trans to be perfect, go figure. There are always issues the first year. Same with new iphones etc, and people want to throw their hands up and complain. These complaints were also probably before the TSB's came out.

One of the main reasons I have one is Resale. Those other guys can go get their big rebates, but at the end of the day, their truck is going to be worth substantially less when they get rid of it.

Yep, I have no need for a fullsize.

I made a thread just like this a few weeks ago and it got deleted by the mods because

OP I agree with you 100%.

I also enjoy driving a tacoma much more than a full-size.

Not sure how everyone missed this... but a 2013 double cab didnt sell for 36k. Try about 25k.

    Far from $25k. Look again:
    4WD Double Cab V6 AT (Natl) $27,685.00
and thats before options, as mentioned a TRD OR, so add another $2-3k so closer to $30-32k.

I know the MSRP for my 2015 TRD Sport DCLB 4WD was $34k, I doubt the price jumped $9k over 2 years lol. Still not $36k as alluded to but certainly not $25k as you mentioned.

In 2015 yes... but not 2013..

Off road package was $3345 in 2013. The FULL blown "I want everything" 2013 tacoma was 27500. Roughly 30k ish. I paid 27500 for my 2013 off road. He was using hypothetical sell numbers. So was I. About 25ish is right in 2013.

Sold it to my grandpa for book value 2 years ago in 2014 at 25k. Tried to get him to pay less. He refused.

Even at the full blown no negotiations 31k msrp price of a 2013 tacoma. Selling now for 25k.

    6k loss

Compared to a 38k dollar truck selling now a
    at 24k

    14k loss

    Thats a huge difference.

    407. Best highway if you want no traffic but it's getting expensive. They keep raising the price of it. 34 cents a km now.

His trip had a stop over in nb but most of the pictures were from a park in nova Scotia

It is nice that Tacoma's have good resale value, but I don't understand why people buy a Tacoma for longevity yet worry about resale value. If you worry about resale value, you really aren't buying for longevity.

I want a good value from the start and longevity. The prices the Tacoma's some of you guys are paying...not seeing a very good bang for the buck. Only one is the base SR at $25K. $25K and might be able to run it up to 300K miles without much fuss, that seems like a good deal, over-all cost of ownership isn't too horrible. Not so much when the vehicle is $40-50K, right out of the gate.

Do believe why they hold decent resale value is internet hype, lots of people buy into the hype, which increases demand, that and Toyota keeps production numbers low, which also increases demand, so prices go up.

Being along time Toyota owner of 25+ years now, looking at the new ones, they aren't built as tough as the older ones. Toyota has gotten pretty cheap on the bones of the truck, yet added a bunch of fluff you really don't need, then charges more.

Most people don't. They keep it more like 3-5 years, and barely crack 100K miles.

    Just curious, what
Everyone has their stereotypes when they think of a specific city or state. I'm sure that many people on the left coast think of the state of North Carolina as one homogeneous group of rednecks.
California also has the same land mass as the parts of Canada that are actually lived in, with 75% of the population estimated to live within 100 miles of the US border. Ever try to escape the crowds in downtown Vancouver?

I sold my 2004 for 76% of my original purchase price after 11 years of ownership. Please help me understand how that is not an important financial consideration.

If it turns out that the newer Tacomas do not outperform on resale value I will no longer assign any value to that when considering my next purchase.
