A little bit of weight in the bed goes a long way in the snow Ford pickups

 

My first truck was a 99 f150 4x2. Bad choice since living in jersey

 

It was still a nice truck until my ex wife totalled it. Sad day worse part was her fault.

Fwd in general doesn't really work for donuts. At that point it's more about getting some speed and then cutting the wheel real hard to spin. But it's not really donuts since you aren't causing them nor maintaining them with the driven wheels.

If you're driving around in 2wd, yeah extra weight makes a huge difference for traction. But once you engage 4wd, the benefit isn't nearly as substantial because though the distribution is not ideal, the total weight of the vehicle is still over all driven wheels. When it comes to braking, however, you're often better off not adding weight to the rear because more weight negatively effects braking time/distance.

Tru dat yo. Reverse donuts work in fwd vehicles. Though I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable sliding around backwards. Never done 'em.

No longer own a FWD vehicle. Not sure my buddy would be okay with me doing reverse donuts in his Taurus...though I might be able to convince him if they are snow donuts.

 

Well best thing for me today is probably leave the truck home and take out my quad, which might happen in the next hour

Lol well maybe I can swing by haha, last year I rode my quad to jersey just for 8 dollars of gas, but it was on principal, not for the price.

 

Yeah, pre runner mod. I am going to try and have it fixed this week. Mean while the wife's car has 4wheel drive but the street tires are garbage and the 27 year old add actuator on the 4Runner still works.

 

It's nice having 4 wheel drive when you need it. I've always heard stories about how shitty the actuators are.
