Ah, gotcha. Yep I've been moving stuff up, down, back, forth, you name it. Nothing quite eliminates the issue though. Also the click-click-click has been happening more during other movements. I think scar tissue is building up.

Sucks that they do it at the holidays like that. I've been let go several times but never at the holidays. But I know other folks who have. It's good to hear that you'll land on your feet.

I was a Telecom Manager for a large HMO and there are three times of the year most larger companies 2500 employees and more terminate, or whatever they want to all it, employees.

Christmas time to make the end of year books look better for stockholders. Not only is the employee gone but all severance associated costs do not carry over to next years books even if the severance is paid in the following year. Most of the time the fired employees boss does not know about the termination till a few days before it happens. In most cases the department VP does not know till after Thanksgiving and only has a week to 10 days to work with his Directors to select the employees for termination.

Mid January to Mid February. Most companies pay out bonuses to salaried employees in March. Per federal law the employees have to be terminated 15 days or more before the bonus is paid otherwise the employee will be paid the bonus. This is what happened to me, I knew it was going to happen and I was ready to go when my boss fired me.

Mid June to Mid July. Bonuses to wage earner employees are paid out in August. Same reason as salaried employees.

Hope this helps a little. No Manager likes to fire an employee even when the employee does something really stupid and deserves to be fired.

Woohoo! 63* last night with a north wind. Love it when it's "cold". Pretty hot today though, it's about 85 out now.
Still snowing up on Mauna Kea.

    Good afternoon folks.

Weather really is crazy with this arctic blast coming down. It's 77 degrees in the Texas Hill Country at this time (2:00PM). Winds are supposed to kick up tonight to 30MPH and the temperature should drop to near 20 degrees. Might have to put some socks on before I hit the sack !! Stay warm and stay safe.

    Tex

Don't see a post about this so FYI:
Senior Discount Passes are changing (thanks Obama) for federal park system. Previously it was $10 lifetime and it is going to $20 starting January 1st. If you are 62 or older or know someone that might not have a pass let them know to get one.
Online is easy with only a $10 processing fee https://store.usgs.gov/b2c_usgs/b2c...ea=0000000002&citem=00000000020000000004)/.do

    Edit : Link https://www.congress.gov/bill/114th-congress/house-bill/4680?q={"search":["hr4680"]}&r=1

It is not every year, it is just a $10 increase for the lifetime pass for seniors, I got some bad info from someone's bad spelling so when I found the link I see the actual increase.

Was just looking at information on the federal park I fish in to see if I could find out if I could just buy a lifetime pass and be able to launch the boat.
I pay $10 a year for a senior launch permit to be able to launch at those facilities and don't believe that would be covered by buying the pass. Without that launch permit it would be $8 per day and $12 per day on weekends.
That particular park along the Delaware river is free access but I think you have to pay to use any of the facilities that are within its boundaries.
Even with that pass, it looks like I would still have to buy the launch permit every year, it comes under amenity fees. :(
Still sounds like a good deal if anyone plans on visiting any of the federal parks and good to know.
