So I took my truck to be washed yesterday and after I left I discovered that the carpet on the driver and passenger sides were absolutely soaked. The rest of the interior was bone dry. Since we had some heavy rain prior I assumed that maybe somehow that it was the cause due to some issue with the under carriage.
I have the all weather mats so I don't have a point of reference when this happened. I've had the truck for 4 months and have not had an issue with car washes. I took it to the dealer and they couldn't find any issue with the truck. They shop vac'd the carpets, shampooed them and sent me on my way.

Sit inside the truck and have someone outside hit it everywhere with a pressure washer. If it leaks you should be able to see it.Do you have a sunroof?Possible sunroof drains if you do.

George, I would stop in at Walmart and pick up a 4 pound pail of Damprid to sit in your floor board. I keep a pail sitting behind my passenger seat. If you PM me your address I'll send you a couple coupons for a free pail. They are good till December 31st.

It is about the size of a ice cream bucket with a plastic handle on it. Just take the lid off it and your all set. Keep the lid in case you need the room in your truck you can sit it in the bed.

Sit inside the truck at one of those "Touchless" washes. There is a lot of pressure from different directions.
. . . "So I took my truck to be washed". Could the "washer person" have left a window cracked??

    Let us know,

    G.

I just had a windshield replaced and after a trip through the car wash, I noticed my carpets were very wet. Apparently the installer didn't seal the new windshield well enough. Couldn't see the water come in, but it must have worked its way down from the cowl area below the windshield.

Here's the update. I just took it to same car wash and everything was fine. The only thing I can think of is that maybe they didn't shut doors completely before running it through the fricken wash. Thanks for all the responses

When looking for leaks, air or water.......

Dark night or garage. Darker the better.

Small bright light. Brighter the better.

2 people. One working the light from the outside, one looking for the light inside.

You'd be amazed at how many leaks I've found over the years with this simple technique pops taught me.

Not sure if third gens have the same intake under the cowling for the heating and air vent... but maybe check that seal?

    Just a thought.
