I hesitate to go ahead and do the install when I come across people DID have the 'SC' option to chose from.

It'll be fine - if you're hesitant call Bully Dog and they'll tell you the same thing. When you run the BD update agent on your computer you'll see the files are tagged Magnuson.

Doing my URD fuel pump today... figured I'd wait until the frost thaws this morning
    December problems :santa:

Been reading good things about the fuel pump upgrade. On top of the insurance gained apparently a lot of people find the truck to be more responsive and powerful :muscleflexing:

    Thanks guys for the responses!

Fortunately, somebody From Magnuson gave me his cell, and said to call anytime of there was questions. And he was good enough to respond on a Saturday. And he also confirmed to go ahead with the BD install as is.

So fingers crossed, SC install starts........now!

When I first got mine, there WAS a "Tacoma SC" option to chose. I did not see it initially because I did not scroll down far enough and chose the non-SC. But I discovered later on that it was there. I did the "Uninstall Download" option and then re-flashed it with the SC option. Since I was having trouble with running lean and suspected the tune was to blame, I plugged the Bully Dog back into the PC and updated it. After the update, there was no longer an SC option to choose. This added to my confusion so I called Bully Dog to ask about it and the person I spoke with said something to the effect of:

"Yeah, there was a mistake in some of the instructions. The 40480 part number that comes with the Magnuson kits at one time did have an SC option but was not supposed to. The 40480 is SC by default. The 40417 part number DOES have the SC option."

Not an exact word for word quote, but that is the gist of what was said.

If you've already flashed it with the Bully Dog, the dealer will probably tell you it's already got the TRD flash. Bully Dog uses the same calibration ID's that Toyota uses.

Calibration IDs for the various Tacomas are on pages 54-56
    trdsparks.com/install/PTR29-35120inst.pdf

In my case it was 3YWG4100. If you look on the last page of the settings screen on the Bully Dog, you should see the calibration ID that's installed.

Is the BD tune easy to remove? Can I drive it to the dealership and uninstall it in the parking lot? If I uninstall the BD tune will they still think it has already been flashed?

I wish I had done that from the beginning. The SC kit without the Bully Dog was $400 less if I remember correctly. Would have saved myself a few headaches and $300. Plus I probably would have never been tempted to order a fuel pressure gauge and URD rail tap.

Easy to remove, but the calibration ID that the Bully Dog used stays in there, it seems.

I finally got around to installing the fuel pressure gauge. No more gaping hole in my gauge panel. I like the way it all turned out.

Looks like the left AFR is crooked, oops. o_O Easy fix.

Fixed. Another shot from the driver's perspective.

It would be relatively easy to reproduce. It's just ABS plastic.

I got lucky too. The location of the gauges makes it so that the plate pressure-fits into place without any mounting brackets. The top of the plate wedges in at the angle where the bottom of the OE switches are. At the bottom, the back of the two lower gauges sort of slip in there with just the right amount of pressure.

Going to Jo Anne's fabric tomorrow to score some black vinyl to cover the abs texture. Should look pretty pimp.
