Brought this little guy home today. One of the wife's employees found him outside a few days ago, cold and hungry. She can't have pets in her apartment so we agreed to take him in until we can find him a home. We'll be getting him checked at the vet, getting all of his shots up to date, putting some weight on him, and having him neutered before we re-home him.

If you already have a cat in your house strays should be isolated until checked. Feline leukemia.

 

Yup, you are absolutely right. We have four, two were strays at one time, and we've had lots of others in the past. We also foster periodically, like for this guy. He's in the guest room and we take turns sleeping with him and hanging out. He has his own food, water, and litter box, and the bedroom has a big closet to hide in and a bathroom for additional space and keeping his stuff clean. Once he's fixed and gets a clean bill of health from the vet, we will re-home him. Actually, I just brought him home from the vet this afternoon after the old snip-snip. Initial blood work came back negative for FIV and Feline Lukemia, and all his levels look good. He's a healthy little bugger and supper friendly. Whoever dumped him are assholes and should end up homeless themselves. We'd love to keep him, but two of our current cats are pretty old and have health problems, so we don't want to mess with the fragile equilibrium that we have established. I think we've already found him a home with a gal I work with, so his future looks good.

 

We foster as well. Usually orphaned kittens.
