Decided to just go with the FJ case. No crawl box. Decided I didn't really need it with the auto.

 

I thought about trying to twinstick one myself. Then said to hell with it and just ordered it from RST.

 

Why on earth would you say this? I have zero intentions to do this.

 

Nice! I was reading up on it in the RST forum. The price for the transfercase from RST is pretty reasonable too. How hard was the swap?

 

Just get a regular FJ Case and twin stick it yourself - Nathan has a DIY on how to do it and it is ingeniously simple.
Had I not bought one that was already done I would've done it myself

You want the FJ case out of an automatic transmission FJ - this is the same for either an automatic or manual trans Tacoma swap
The manual FJ transfer case is a completely different piece

 

Ok question what group size battery do the second gens run?

That's not a bad idea either. I'll have to read up on that DIY.

 

seems like @HomerTaco has spares for everything.. It would make sense that he would have a spare twin stick

 

Plus the sticks.

 

Other than cutting a hole in the floor and modifying the sticks to work with the auto shifter tower, it just bolts in.

The transfer case isn't engaged... just the diff... the engine still only spins the the rear tires acording to Ant... a little more of a load would be on the engine but i don't really care... my truck is VERY close to coming off the road.
