AC/Heater keeps going in n out. Motor

    Ok looking for advice. This summer I thought my AC blower motor was going out but turns out just a couple of knocks with my fist and it starts again. I replace the resistor after reading it in a thread here and it's been fine for 5 months.. so don't think a wire is loose.

    Now it's getting cold and my fan stopped blowing again today. No heat. Tap the motor assembly and it fired back up. It's also making a clicking noise on low speeds.. could be a leaf or something, or could be the motor is going bad.

    Any tips, advice, trouble shooting would be welcomed. Thanks

    Check the power connectors at the motor. Are they burned? It sounds like you need to replace the connector.

    Yeah I don't know what I nudged down there, but it turned back on. Could be connectors, which in turn is killing motor or not giving enough power.

    The clicking has been happening for a long time. Have a link, or should I just google the part #.. I do want a new motor as that noise drives me nuts.

    Also I found one that's one number off from yes. Listed as OE. For only $41, not $100. What ya think?

    it says it replaces the -04043, it will fit and work but I'm not sure who manufactures that one, I do not believe it is a genuine OEM part is all. I prefer sticking to genuine Toyota parts but that's just me.

    Also.. for anyone else reading this. Model -04043 is the original part. 04044 is the upgraded blower motor for 2014-15 and WILL work. The 04044 also doesn't have the same clicking squeeking noise.

    So yeah. Looks like I need to get the newer one. Thanks guys

    that is correct, but not just for the 2014-15, it fit in my 09. I was trying to find the thread I read that had all that helpful info in it haha the newer generation is also like the 3rd or 4th generation so hopefully they finally figured out the issue

    Yup it fits and is the official replacement for all 05+
    Looks like I'll be getting the newer one and getting rid of those clicky noises. Finally. Thanks man, for actually being helpful.

    Do I need the connector too? Probably should since I think mine might have a short of some kind.

    the connector I linked is not the connector that plugs into the motor itself, its the climate control connector. still trying to find the motor connector. if any of the pins on your connectors look burnt then yeah I would replace them.

    From what I can see the connectors look fine. No burn marks. I checked the resistor connector when I replaced it, and was fine. I'll check it again shortly. Looks like I just need a new blower. Good thing I just got a $250 Amazon gift card. ;-)
