I'm from Long Island NY, I know snow, I know traffic, I know shitty drivers. The state can't clear snow for shit, people can't keep speed going up hills or around turns EVER, people don't know how to signal, people do 50 in the left lane. MD drivers infuriate me lol

Shit, move to Delaware. Maryland has their snow removal game on point. A dusting in Delaware shuts the state down until spring. I grew up there, it's a joke. If it's not route 1 or 13, it's not clear.

Boy you're crazy if you think NY drivers are better than MD drivers.

MD has nothing on point in terms of snow removal. They close school for 2" of snow............. They haven't touched roads in my area yet, took a week to clear roads in the big storm last year. Like I said, back in NY we'd have 18" on the ground, roads were plowed all day, all night, rotating shifts keeping everything clear. School and work went on as usual, none of this run for cover for a dusting.

Better, no. Can we hold speed going up a hill? YEP! Can we hold speed on a curve in the road? YEP! Do we know the left lane means 70 MPH in a 55 minimum? YEP! Traffic here is better, I like MD better than NY but I can't stand driving here.

Schools are closed for safety, not for lack of snow removal. And snow in Maryland is not as common as snow in New York. New York you're going to get snow all winter long, down here you get heavy snow every 3-5 years. To invest that kind of money to have trucks sit for the majority of their life is a waste.

Ah and I don't mean NYC, I mean NY as in on the island, upstate, the city is a totally different ball game. I would highly advise people from MD that think they can drive to stay the hell out of NYC if you enjoy keeping paint on your car. Our cabs will literally hit you, run you into another car, keep going for the BS people pull on the roads around here.

And left lane is for passing, not traveling no matter what state you're in. If the speed limit is 55, and you're exceeding 55 to pass them then you're technically speeding and could get pulled over. I know I sound like an old man. Just reciting what I learned in drivers ed and drivers safety courses.

Not trying to be confrontational here. Just being fair and realistic. You're complaining about drivers in Maryland but you're describing yourself as being an aggressive driver.

Every state has their issues and every person claims the state they're from is better than the one they're in.

    No need to bash.

My wife had to drive to BWI this morning to pick up our nephew that flew in from Hawaii (he's in the Navy). She said she saw accidents everywhere and one was a new style vette on its roof. Who takes a vette out in this mess?

If the state I was from was better, i'd go back. MD is better than NY is most ways but this is far from perfect. Reality is, no state will ever be perfect. I stand behind MD drivers being far worse than NY drivers. Yes i'm somewhat aggressive, come's with growing up on Long Island 20 minutes from NYC. If you plan to drive 55, that's cool, stay out of the left lane. If you think you're going to ride the on ramp till the very end and try and cut over with no signal, don't try and do it in front of me. I'll push your ass off the road every time. I will never slam on my brakes for someone like that or cater to assholes on the road.

People in NY don't do that anymore due to traffic cams. Lots of red light tickets issued every year. People hate them but i'm all for it. Yeah I may do 70-75 in a 55-60 but no I don't cut in and out, I don't tailgate, I don't cut people off, I don't blow stop signs or red lights and I certainly know how to slow down in a residential area.

I do miss New England drivers (except around Boston) being courteous of the "drive right pass left" rule. That said, works much better on rural highways than the beltways with the large volume of interchanges.

Went to college in Maine and they know how to drive in the snow AND stay to the right

Mass is actually the #1 for worst drivers in the country according to the insurance institute. I think MD ranked #3 for the worst drivers.

I'm from rural Delaware where the majority is not aggressive and mostly courteous. Until you're in Wilmington or northern New Castle which is mostly people living there and working in Philadelphia... Now I'm on the eastern shore in Maryland and everyone over here is the same as where I grew up. They'll get to their destination when they get there and are courteous as they come for the most part. To be fair though the population per square mile is nothing compared to metropolitan areas like Baltimore and NYC. Shit, chickens out number people like 20 to 1 over here haha

Probably. But Maryland has Baltimore, DC and borders Northern VA. The shear number of people per square mile is incredible.
