Time to drive home in the snow. I love playing around in 4x4 for my commute home.

Ran some errands in the snow this am. To avoid someone broadsiding me, I ended up sliding into the rear of a 4Runner. Fortunately I had time to slow down and only hit at less than 5mph. And with the snow, he slid immediately as well.

We pulled over and no visible damage on either.

After getting home, I noticed only a small nick in my plastic bumper cover. I think it was the hitch receiver that I made contact with.

    Lucky.

The last week I made a platform for my access cab which was essentially unusable space. Also had a new Sony radio installed from the stock one. Nice to have ApplePlay and do calls thru the mic.

Looks Good. Are you going to add AL plates to that open area?

Got my Westin bed mat in the truck today, must say it seems to be pretty high quality, I have no experience with the genuine Toyota one but I can't see why they would charge $50+ more for it.

I can relate. An idiot in an Eclipse was driving too fast for the snowy conditions and started to lose control so he locked up the brakes and slid across two lanes of traffic and into my path. I slowed down as quickly as possible and steered towards the snow bank on the right side of my lane to avoid being hit but ran out of road. So I decided the snow bank was a better option then the other car. So I drove into the snow bank and just kept on driving. Missed the other guy by inches and drove right out of the snow bank, back onto the road and kept on going. Another guy waiting to turn onto the same road watched the whole thing. Wish I could have seen it too! Checked out the truck when I pulled into my driveway and couldn't even tell I had an "off-road" adventure.

Noticed you in the ebay bumper thread. How you feel about it after having it?

I feel great. I'll be mounting a winch in the next few weeks, we'll see how it holds up to a few recoveries

Removed top overload spring in dakar pack, and installed 3 degree steel shims. After test drive no more vibrations at 60. Plus has really helped minimize the coasting - deceleration grinding noise heard in the front end of these regular cabs.
