Sorry for blowing it up with posts but i thought i would break down the links for you since its kinda hard to dig them up on his website.

And man do i wish you lived closer! It's hard to find people with the same generation truck who is all about wrenching on it and building a trail rig!

 

I agree man, there are not too many of these rigs around here. Yours looks great. Mine was that color, still is in some places, lol.

 

yeah the plan it to paint it white. Im doing all the work (paint, body work, etc) myself. Then from there im changing all the interior trim to be grey instead of blue. I like to mess with older trucks because im not afraid to screw anything up like i am on the tacoma. Although the one downside is finding the spare parts!

 

I am sure that the lines are clear, I was thinking about the injectors them selves.

 

I wasn't making fun of the paint job, I was talking abour door jams & under the hood, lol

 

Cool. I am thinking about trying to put the cream puff in the garage so I can work on it out of this crappy weather. IDK, it might clear up in another day or so. I need to work half a day Saturday but other wise I am free to fuck with it all weekend. Hope to have it running & start diagnosis on the brakes.

Well I was going to work on the 4runner tonight, but it is STILL raining so I guess it will have to wait one more day. What I wouldn't do for some decent weather.

 

well the weather still sucks, but I did manage to make some progress this weekend. I got the upper intake manifold off & the fuel injectors out. Had to order the new injector seals, All I could get was new o-rings but I want to replace the bushings & grommets as well. Here are a few pics.





I also took the running boards off. I have plans for them, but it will have to be a surprise. Here are a few more pics with the running boards off & the new wheels & tires. The wheels are Crager soft 8's that I got from a buddy who took them off his Z71, they where just lying around & he gave them too me for free!! The tires I got from another buddy in trade for some shocks I had lying around. They are at least 75% tread Good year wranglers size 245/75-16, not exactly off road tires but they as far better than what came on it. Total investment for the wheels & tires, $24 for mounting & disposal of the old tires. Not bad if you ask me. It is amazing how much better this thing looks with some wider wheels & bigger tires.

Sweet Ass Ride

 

pretty soon, I took my time & labeled every thing when I took the upper intake off. I am going to order some new intake gaskets tomorrow. I am also going to buy like 20 feet of vacuum line, I dont think that I can reuse any of the lines I disconnected today, they are all dry rotted. Might as well replace them while it is already torn apart.

 

yea no joke some of those lines were about to fall apart

 

Well I am replacing all of them. It will be running this week I hope. Still need to get a new battery for it. I am going to take my injectors to work with me tomorrow & put them in the ultra sonic cleaner & pray the Napa has my intake gaskets in stock.

 

they should i mean that motor was in uses for a long time well give me a call if you need a hang sometime i should be done with most school stuff by tuesday this week
