    Hi guys,
I have 2004 Tacoma (2rz- fe), and I can't find the automatic tranny dipstick.
If I am not imagining, I drained and refilled the tranny fluid a few years ago.
I don't remember where the dipstick was.
    Thanks

On the driver side. Below/behind the intake runners. If I remember right, it's been a while. I may be wrong.

I feel like I am blind. I don't see it.
Would you please point me to the dipstick?

    Thanks for your help.

Crawl under the truck. Look at the pan. Find the tube coming off of it up towards the engine. That is the dipstick tube.

I just did, but I can't even locate the tranny pan under the truck. Maybe I was dreaming, drain and refill weren't that difficult back then.

By the way, do we need to drain and refill tranny fluid? The manual doesn't even say where the tranny dipstick is and the maintenance service booklet just says check the tranny fluid. The truck has 110,000 miles on it.

Wish I could be more help, but I own a 2nd gen (no dipstick) and its been years since I tinkered with a 1st gen.
Looking at YouTube, the only one I could find for a 04 auto is the v6. It shows a tube that is directly attached to the forward passenger side of the tranny pan that the dipstick tube slides into.
Since its not a sealed tranny like the 2nd gen, it'll have a dipstick (unless the tube was removed from the pan and the hole was capped).

The service interval should be in with your owners manual.

May have taken a while, but it couldn't hide forever.
