Ah I've seen a few 1st gens posted here that have been modded in that direction. Way too above my head for need, money, and skill but goddamn do they look cool.

And just FYI, all 1st gen DCs are SBs.

I feel like I've seen the one on the right before. Maybe on a car trailer behind my F-150?

Yup. SB is fine. My eventual goal is a tube bed.

You certainly have grandiose aspirations. Here I am just hoping to save up the money for a lift and sliders in 2017....

About a month ago.Was starting to rust away, bought that one when my son was 15 he just turned 20 last week. Was always on the back burner for a wheeling truck for myself, but when you make a commitment to provide your 2 sons with their first Tacomas, somethings got to take a back seat.

Went up to CT. today and picked up a Thule cargo box from CL. Ive been searching for this particular one for weeks, the dimensions are perfect on the Prinsu rack..

    That's nice.

My brother had the exact same Thule for a bunch of years. He had it in his shed and finally kicked it to the curb a year or so ago. Someone grabbed it within an hour.

I can't pay that much for a trail rig but those older solid axle trucks are bringing the money. That's why i bought the Land cruisers, they were cheap. The stock one is a 1 owner that i bought for $1400 (thanks again to Joe @Mobtown Offroad for towing it home for me). It needs a hg but it is solid, no rust. The lifted one i bought just days later for $1700 from a local TW member. The lifted one has some rust & a exhaust leak but it drives great, actually it's a comfortable ride down the highway. Both are 3x locked.

Plastic dip badges. Upgraded head unit, husky floor liners, BFG ko2 tires.
Good deal. I had the crappy xcargo sears box. It was free out of trash! Worked great for years but took an hour to put on! Not an exaggeration. Upgraded to a Thule box. Found one for 30% off had to pull trigger. Only regret did not to it years earlier!

I don't see it that way. I was honking the horn and pointing at the scenery on that rocky loop. That's all...
