Hello, all! First post, first tacoma and I hate haggling with dealerships. Truck will be delivered sometime between Dec 21st and the 26th. What are some things I should be looking for and questions I should be asking? This is a short list of the things i'll be addressing.

    ATF manually checked
    U-Bolts torqued to spec
    Greased driveshaft

Just want to thank everyone that is a part of TacomaWorld. While this is my first Taco i've always been a fan boy. Any suggestion on how to approach these issues would be greatly appreciated.

Sign your papers, quit reading TW, enjoy the truck.
You can mention to the salesman you have concerns of those issues you listed, they may or may not care. If they don´t treat you right, you can always take the truck(or your business all together) to another dealer. For them to check the tranny fluid properly it does take some time to cool down, so you may want to tell them now you want that checked, that way it can be done before you go test drive, otherwise you will have to leave it overnight after driving and signing papers, and that´s no fun.
You have a warranty, so any issues that show up should be covered.

To make your stay here at TW better, I advise the following:
    Read the owners manual.
Oil change is at 10k, not 5k
Page 592 shows customizable features, most you can do through the head unit, a few a dealer will have to do.
    The Pro grill is available
KbrO2´s look good on this truck
The search button is on the top right of the page(if you want to see the life of Bruce, click on the white truck above the search button)
There is a safe place to hang out here, (we will tell you about that later if you can write a Haiku)
AC only comes in LB, so when referencing your truck, you only need to say AC
If you want to remove bed side decals, its your choice, don´t ask for opinions here you will get flamed
And finally, Welcome to TW and congrats.

Make your number one issue the ATF level. Just politely and firmly state that it IS most definitely part of the PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection), 2016 and 2017s have been found to be asymptomatic but very low, and that you absolutely positively need it checked manually. Tech stream does not and has not returned codes for AT's that have been up to 3.5 quarts low. Don't buy any bullshit or dancing around the issue. It is not "sealed so you can't check" nor is it "easy to tell if it's under filled because it wouldn't shift right." That's your biggest concern.

The U-bolts you can check yourself with a harbor freight torque wrench in 5 minutes or less and it isn't a big issue to begin with. Same thing with the Zerks. Those are secondary IMHO.

Oh, and don't forget to enjoy your truck! :)

Thanks for the responses. ATF is def a priority. Yes I'm going to test drive. For those saying to stay away from TW that won't happen, there is way too much info to be gained from a lot of people knowledgeable people on here.

The stay away part is a joke. It seems some people don't have any issues with their truck until they read stuff on here, then all of a sudden they have every issue that someone else had.

ATF shouldn't be an issue with a 17'. Make sure the tranny TSB has been done. Get it on the interstate and set the cruze. If it's dropping into a lower gear and staying there it will need the TSB. Another way to tell is jump on the interstate and go up to 75. If it won't maintain 75 without you giving it more gas it will need the TSB.

At 5k my leaf springs are squeaky as shit. Maybe while I'm on vacation this week I'll go to the dealer and bitch about it. I'll probably have to go aftermarket to actually fix it.

I was on this forum for five months. When the truck arrived, I just signed the paper and left.
