OK. Up @ 0415. Monsoon rains & 66 degrees yesterday turned in to freezing rain and 27 degrees as I walked out the back door. Roads a mess. The decision was to make a run for work BEFORE the usual Sunday morning gotta go to work crowd hit the highway. Conditions got better the closer to work I got. Not bad here. Still freezing rain, just not quite as much ice. By this time tomorrow, supposed to be 15 degrees.

And it isn't even winter yet.

Budget for 2017 done and turned in. With any degree of luck, I can take a few vacation days between now and years end. (Still have 5 left for 2016)

If you don't use vacation days, do you get em paid out or do you just lose em?

 

Use 'em or lose 'em...... Except for the "management team", which I am one of. We can carry them until next year in the form of personal days (sick days) All things equal, I'd rather take the days off. Sick of this shit hole.

Asshole-in-chief has a thing about not wanting to see employees smiling. He's going home (Chicago) for Christmas week. I'll probably just sneak out the door then. I actually took about 12 days off in the spring that weren't charged to vacation (while undergoing surgery) I'm good with whatever happens regarding days off. I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Retirement is coming soon!

Most of those are actually warm air intakes since the pull most their air from the engine bay, which is what i do in the winter. I disconnect the hose at the filter box that runs to the fender, and i recoup most of my lost winter mileage.
