Some communities have bylaws that restricts street parking to in front of your own residential borders. Maybe look into that?

Agreed. But if I ever did, I would try my damnedest to get onto the HOA board myself. That's the only way to effect change.

Eh. I've been living in my condo for 3 and a half years now. My HOA does absolutely nothing. As if they don't exist at all.

Oh the property gets maintained really well, everything is in order, the monthly HOA payment has actually dropped by $50. But none of the draconian rules get enforced and other than a monthly newsletter and 2 neighbors bickering with each other and reporting each other to HOA all the time no one ever hears from them at all.

I'm the president of my HOA.
Depends on how it's enforced, what the cost/benefit is, and if you have a board that AREN'T COMPLETE DICKS. As the new president, I immediately ended the practice of "notes on doors" and have taken to emailing, calling, or (gasp!) walking over to the "offending" neighbor's house and talking with them directly. In every case, the problem was resolved with handshakes and smiles. We will be lowering our HOA fees once the association trust reaches $20K, and any excesses after that will go toward throwing an annual resident party (that effectively lets us close the streets and party all damn day).

The lesson is to treat your neighbors as neighbors and not "offenders." A little respect goes a long way toward getting respect and cooperation.
These people would be hung from light posts as an example to outsiders of what happens to the inconsiderate.

I had something very similar happen many years ago opened garage door back out like normal BOOM hit car blocking my garage driveway. Lady comes out yelling and screaming @ me I look at her and said your illegally parked just a fact. She calls cops they come and stroke her a ticket. I had an ole beat up 73 Chevy Impala had a rear deck lid the size of a ping pong table and solid steel bumper so I didn't care. Her little near perfect 1980 MG convertible didn't far well.

It looked kind of like this but much worse with many dents and missing grill and bumper. Damn I miss that car thing ran like a champ thing had a 454 and I don't think it had much more than 200 HP..

Hahah. Same exact thing happened to me before. I hit a car that was illegally parked similar to that white car. Wasn't much damage, but I told the lady there is no way I will pay for any damages because she was parked illegally. She was all "you have to pay SOMETHING! You hit my car!" I gave her $20 and drove off.

Trucks that long should just go straight in to two spots. Hogging two parking spots is better than screwing up 3 or 4.

My last truck was an F-250 crew cab, 21ft long and 7ft, 4 inches wide. and I was usually hanging just a foot or 2 over out of the spot but never taking up 2 spots. I also parked as far away from other cars as possible.

So the owner parked their licensed/registered vehicle in a parking spot? The problem is?

The only thing I hate about these parkers is that the reel you in thinking theres an open space.
