    Yes... But the majority of thieves are lazy. If your car doors are locked, they'll go to your neighbors unlocked car.. Unless your laptop is on a seat.

    Professional thieves who want something in particular will get it no matter what you do. It's just protecting against the 99% of lazy crack heads that'll do the most good.

    This is why I moved to the country. Houses are unlocked and cars can be left out with the keys in them. Every neighbor has an armory so steal at your own risk.

    You just need an alarm system with big ears that can hear a squirrel fart on the next block so then they start barking to keep them away. I will be awake long before they get the siding off or slide a coat hanger through the garage door. :D
