Did you linex the bottom portion of your truck? If so it looks sharp on the white truck, I was debating doing the same on my blue one, wasn't sure how it would look. Hmm.

    Oh I am jealous.

Got my overland canopy installed today though, I'm not happy with how they wired in the LED light to the bed. My fault, I should've been more specific as to where I wanted the wiring to sit, right now as soon as I load any diving gear in and out of the truck, I'm going to rip the wiring out. I'll fix it myself tomorrow, they gave me all the extensions/wiring/plugs unneeded. Good fellas.

I'll put up pics once I get some decent lighting tomorrow.

Pics of the Overland installed on the truck. Now to just change out the clamps to lower profile ones that fit in the track system, instead of these bulky clamps that loosen off all the time.

That looks GOOD! What clamps do you mean? What do you have, and what do the other ones look like? I have to take a peek at what I have in my shell.

I have ones similar to these but they work with the rails system. They just stick out about 2 inches from the bed sides. Normally not a big deal, but dragging my diving gear in and out with sensitive cables to rebreathers and they get snagged on them and I am out a hefty repair bill if I rip out the controls. They work and is what came with the shell, I just want to minimize potential damage to my gear.

These will sit fairly flush to the rail system and not provide as much of a catch point. Plus when I lock them down I can put a jam nut on, depending on how much adjustability there is in the clamp to rail. Used similar to these before on other trucks and they worked very well.

Any word on MPG drops during your research?

I like the looks of this topper the best out of all of the other ones. I think the lines work better with the short bed. The SB trucks look a tad lopsided and some of these other toppers make it look worse (imo). This one gives it a little extra height and breaks changes the lines just enough to "hide" the shortness of the bed.

    How much do these run?

I never realized that you could get those other clamps. Where from?

The MPG difference between the high top and a regular top with a rack were pretty close. And since I am going to put a rack on mine it really didn't matter at all. I like the look of the smooth top too. But I want to use it, and not need to remove it as often as I had to remove my old topper to transport odd shaped items. Plus more room for dogs, The ability to do a raised floor above the wheel wells and still have ample room in back are just perks as well.

I didn't really see a drop in MPG once the cap was installed, but since the truck is brand new, I haven't had a chance to have a mpg history. Also once spring gets here and we put the Kayaks up on the racks and pulling our camper behind us, that little bump in the roof line is the least of our worries... <grin>

Those with 3rd gen double cabs with shells on: how well (if at all) does the cargo lamp in the brake light work with the shell on?
