Some pretty cool / interesting jobs, you guys have. Good stuff.

I am a graphic designer. I work full time working for various promoters etc for professional MX /SX racing (and also smaller, amateur stuff). I also helped a friend start a company in the MX industry and do all of the designing for those products. It is cool to be involved with the industry/motorsport I love.

I do freelance car dealership photography. It's been a tough 5 months tho, and dealerships around me in SoCal seem so stubborn and not willing to even really consider/see my work even tho it's nicer than a lot of standard photographers in the area... They don't seem to understand how internet representation can separate/differentiate themselves to help get more leads and sales. Making me want to consider changing careers...

Traded in the last one, going to start modifying this soon.
If you do change career (or target customers) look for low-volume high-margin or high-volume mid-margin. Freelancing in photography is a really tough gig ...

It's the fact that these dealerships are not even willing to hear me out. They are just like oh we have somebody, even when I show them my work. It's like you don't even know if you're gonna be saving money paying me freelance vs your full time guy. I never even get to talk pricing with them.

    Shame. Great photo!
I'm a photographer on the side of my main career and it doesn't make much unfortunately. Good for side pay but no career.
    Guess I'm no good.. Lol

    Keep it up!

Not sure if I've seen this thread before, but some of y'all have interesting jobs. I wrench on VWs all day. Not the most glamourous gig, but I'm well compensated for it because I'm good at it. It keeps the lights on and the mods trickling in.

I am a surveyor for a general contractor. I give building position and alignment, excavation depth, grades for parking, curbs and sidewalks and do a couple survey after the job is done to make a small drawing of the final results. When job is getting slow I prepare the jobsite inside with AutoCAD and Civil3D. I've been a construction site inspector for 3 years after school and all the survey things were far in my head when I started this year, and it is also new for the company to have its own surveyor but I think we are doing something great!
