I have this camera and it works pretty well for what it is and what it costs. Mounts to the go-pro windshield mount of course. Also has a dash-cam function that turns on the camera when it gets USB power and turns it off after writing out the files when the power is removed (turn off the truck).

EDIT: Here is a video shot from the gopro mount in my 3rd gen. The file is straight-out-of-the-camera. It's nearly 300MB for the three-minute video.

FYI, I'd recommend *downloading* the video rather than streaming it from Dropbox which seems to compress the video and affects the quality.

I got a GoPro knock off from eBay about a year ago for $60. Glad i only spent $60 as I realized I barley used it. Would be upset having spent 300 and barely use it.

I did use it for my swim (lap pool) analyzes and a handful while cycling, but the novelty wore off after a few months.

How is the image quality of these? True HD?

 

It's decent. I don't have much to compare to, so I'll try to remember to shoot some video with mine tomorrow and post it up.

 

That would be awesome..have wanted a go pro for awhile now to record fly fishing trips but dont wanna drop the coin for one..ill be ordering this if video quality is decent. Thanks for the post.

Does it have the standard tripod threaded hole on bottom/top (thinking 1/4 x20 threads) and do you know if mounted upside down does it auto flip or have a setting to make the vids to be right side up?

No threaded hole. Most all of the GoPro accessories can be used with it.....suction cup, straps, etc.
I have not needed to flip the image, so I can't help you on that question.

Battery life is about 1.25 hours.
Takes up to a 32Gb sd card.
