Replacing O2 and Air/fuel sensor but have part number ?

    I am about to replace both my up and down stream sensors on my 2001 Ext. Cab 3.4L 4x4 manual trans and I think I have the right part numbers to order but I read something about California being different parts for their sensors. My upstream sensor part # is
    $176 Denso 234-9003 Air Fuel Ratio Sensor
    Denso 234-9003 and the downstream is
    $70 Denso 234-4189 Oxygen Sensor
    Denso 234-4189. Is this all correct for the manual trans and it being a CA truck? Thanks! Before I got scolded, I have been reading threads on this for over half an hour and can't seem to get a clear answer. Thanks in advance!

    There were Tacomas originally destined for California from their factories. California had more stringent emissions regulations than the rest of the country. Toyota made the exhaust extra efficient in removing pollutants in these Tacomas. This is what is referred to as a Cali truck. If the sensors you need are indeed for a Cali truck, the part description of the correct Denso sensor will specify that it's for a Cali emissions vehicle.

    Then the thing is these California emission trucks are all over the country not just in California

    Just go to Denso Aftermarket look up the numbers for the specs of your vehicle .

    Seems the 2000 year was the last year for the two different emission packages in 2001 they are the same unless there is a glitch in Denso`s catalog

    The part numbers you have are the same ones I come up with using your info.

    I double checked on Denso and Napa Prolink you should be good to go.

    As these should both be plug and play

    Hey guys, Speaking of O2 sensors, one of mine is triggering my engine light on. My mechanic told me one was bad, but have to take my truck back to his shop so he can check and see which one I need. He's very good with me on saving money, and lets me buy the parts online which is normally cheaper than his cost from local parts supplier. That being said, I know there are el cheapo aftermarket sensors out there. I prefer to get better quality or OEM. My question is, What brand or brands should I be looking for? Also, who online has the best prices on these? Amazon maybe? What should I expect to pay for one, ballpark?
    2003 Tacoma 3.4L 4x4 double cab.

    Sorry, not trying to hijack this thread.

    Denso ONLY. Search the correct denso part number on Amazon and you can find the correct sensor much cheaper than in stores. Also, if you can find one in stock at a Advanced Auto parts, you can use a 40% off coupon and go pick it up (if you can find one in stock) Denso only, for the love of god don't use a Bosch or universal sensor.

    Does manual or Auto trans make a difference in Emissions? Just wondering for when I have to replace these. I like to write down certain part #'s for future use. My truck was built in Fremont, CA went to NC for a little bit, made it's way back to CA and that's when I bought it. So it's a CA truck. Or should I just go off my VIN# for referencing Part #'s and not anything else?
